I thought this too because of the headline just saying "physical media", but in the article Wario64 links to they only talk about movies and don't say anything about games at all.

There's still a chance it could include games too, and that would suck because I buy majority of my games from there.

:( but I understand. Was only a matter of time. I only wish they passed the savings to the consumer. Instead prices go up and manufacturing expenses plummet. Dev prices go up, but do they need to? Indies eating that pie.

Everyone has been interpreting some comments that were made a little differently. Best I can tell it's just movies, gaming is still going to be a thing. But it wasn't a formal announcement, it was some off the cuff remark or interview question. I think it's "just" UHD/Bluray/DVD/CD.

I don't really care so much but BB has always done cool steelbook releases of movies. I don't buy them but they're pretty cool for only $5-$10 more.

After their discriminatory training practices and the bait and switch with the new membership deals, I couldn't care less what they carry going forward. I hope they win the race to bankruptcy against GameStop.

This is just dumb on so many levels. I sold my physical presence ages ago as digital is awesome for us, but many others not so much.

Still a large portion of the country without high speed internet. Tons of low income families that rely on used media. Inability to buy gifts for others.

I hope this blows up on them but sadly, others will follow.

It sounds like they are giving up on it and letting sites like amazon handle it. Which makes sense from a retail store, you don't need to stock thousands of stores with copies of new releases and dvds.

It makes no sense at all that they wouldn't keep selling it online though.

I have a feeling Walmart is looking at Xbox games specifically because of Game Pass. It has to be much harder to sell Halo or Forza than it used to be.

The biggest complaint about Xbox right now is the lack of worthy exclusives. The irony of gamepass' success is that if Walmart pulls physical Xbox games, that will drive some developers away from Xbox in favor of Switch/PS5.

Or course MS can fix that by buying those developers raspberry
