YouTube Mic Question

I have a small gaming YouTube channel where I mostly use footage and talk over it. However, I want to do more of a webcam/camera type of style for some videos - think kind of like Happy Console Gamer style recording - interlaced with footage (less video editing, yay!).
My question is: what kind of mic would you recommend for this? I currently use a nice dynamic mic that works well, but I would need to have that in front of my face if I were to be in the videos I make, which I don't find ideal. Does anyone have any recommendations for this type of video? My best guess is either a lapel mic, or a dynamic mic? I want to start off with my phone or webcam to test this out before committing to anything more expensive. Any help with how to maintain good sound quality that is synced with the recording device without investing heavily would be appreciated.

Haha thanks Foxhack and BlueJava! My research suggests a shotgun mics might be best, or a lapel.

Ooh, what's your channel, if that's okay to ask!
And happy belated birthday! Your special day is a day right before mine. ha
