So one of my Series X controllers will randomly just turn off while playing. Has a Play and Charge kit but doesn't matter if I am using that or batteries or controller is plugged in. I've updated it to the latest firmware and it happens less but still happens.
Any ideas?

Haven't had the issue myself, but I'd try possibly resetting the controller and/or console ... also test on a PC, then possibly wired as well.

I've had this issue with Xbox Series controllers on the PC. Most likely due to signal interference of some sort. I use alot of controllers, but only Xbox controllers do this.
I've switched all my Xbox style controllers to the 8bitdo 2.4g Ultimate controllers for this reason, they connect and retain connection better, if you don't care about multiple dongles.

Are they Xbox licensed? Because starting this month MS is cracking down on unauthorized controllers in order to "preserve the console experience".

The ultimate controller is not designed for xbox, it does have bluetooth function though.
I also should mention, I switched to the Ultimate Controller on PC/Android, since my issue was strictly with Xbox controllers disconnecting on Windows.
On Xbox, I still use a series controller and haven't had the issue you mentioned.
