I loved the Contra demo on PS5. I've been hearing complaints about the Switch version, so I downloaded that to see the difference. Most of you know how I don't like hyperbole, so I won't say it's unplayable, but it is definitely unacceptable...
Unacceptable is a bit much imo. It has issues, but it's a demo with no patch. Emulation on the NES Classic was deemed "unacceptable", yet I was able to no death run it as easily as an OG NES. I found the demo ok, should be fine with patches. Bloodstained was much worse and that turned out great.

Have you compared it to other systems? I mean, it's definitely playable, but there is absolutely no reason for it to be performing so poorly. If the Switch can handle Tears of the Kingdom, it can handle an average looking 2D run and gun. I mean, hell, Contra 3 on SNES ran better than this. I hope it gets patched and fixed before release, but right now, it is unacceptable.

I’m with you. Here’s what we’ll likely never see tho: F-Zero sequel (not this 99 crap) Star Fox sequel Earthbound (Mother) sequel And it pains me because I’ve been clamoring for a new F-Zero sequel since the GameCube era. F-Zero! Wow. that bring me back to the Gamecube one. North America got another game for the GBA in 2004, Japan got another one for the GBA, and I believe that was it.
I wonder if they'd revive it though, when Mario Kart is their bread and butter racing game.

They likely will keep F-Zero as a Tetris 99 style free to play online game I think for a long time. I did hear though on Did You Know Gaming YT channel that the creator of F-Zero is interested in making a true sequel but no development team he feels is ready to take on the challenge yet. Ah well. One day. Until then a boy can dream!

The last I heard about F-Zero 99 was that it was getting more and more difficult to even get a full 99 players. It seems of the retro games that went the free-to-play battle royal route (F-Zero, Bomberman, Pac-man Tetris, etc.) only Tetris has the playerbase to last. Unfortunately Nintendo might view that as nobody wants a new F-Zero. For me personally I never was a fan of F-Zero on SNES, so I was not interested from the start when they announced F-Zero 99 and I saw that was the version they were basing it on. The N64 or GameCube versions would've been the way to go, imo.

This is such a great game. Easily one of my favorites this era.

Trust the Fungus showed up! Ugh, to open or leave sealed.
Still FRIGGIN waiting.
I’m opening mine up, I can’t wait to read the earlier version of the script. I know it’s available online but I love binding, can’t help it.
I don’t feel like this sort of thing is ever going to become a “collector’s item” - at least more than it already is. I think anyone who would ever want it probably pre-ordered this set haha.
Is the packaging nice?

yah, it's surprisingly heavy!
trying to find a place to even put it, I'm out of room. i'm torn on opening, my gut says keep it sealed and be a lameass.
Edit: son of a dog. While moving it, tore the plastic. Welp, guess I'm opening it!
Weird, images aren't posting ...

@MrBean gosh darn that’s beautiful. Love me a good box set. That “The Scripts” box has me frothing at the mouth.
There’s also a 1-of-1 film cel from the movie in there somewhere, if I’m not mistaken. Open it up!

A cool strategy game is finally out on the switch:
https://www.youtube....
I supported this on Kickstarter about six years ago! I've just played the first two levels and am very happy with it so far.
