This isn't being ripped off at all, this is a great deal. Original came over 3 years ago and is great opp for someone to catch up if they haven't played.
Not many items retain full retail after several years. If you think this is crap, and a tactic... Don't support it? For everyone else, this is awesome.

I definitely didnt mean to crap on the deal you posted, I'm sure it's a fine price. I am just annoyed with the FOMO tactic in general. I see it all the time. A few recent ones come to mind..
Nintendo with the "limited" Mario 3D All-Stars
LRG does it all the time - I'm not even sure everyone has received their TMNT Shredders Revenge and now they have already started pre-sales on an anniversary edition with additional content.
How many limited game companies do we have now? Only 999 copies, buy it now or its gone forever! Oh wait actually now there's a super special edition (once everyone has bought the first edition)

Oh I get it but like any good or service, timing matters. Helps to promote sales to hit numbers. I was surprised to hear they've only sold 7 million copies of of Remake (not releasing on Xbox was dumb).
I get what you're saying but this gives those that haven't played the first the ability to play before release of the new one, at a heavily discounted (aka free) price. Hard to argue it.
What Mario did with All Stars was just straight bullcrap. That's for sure FOMO, I wouldn't qualify this sale as that, personally.

There's definitely value in waiting till it's all said and done. I haven't looked yet but I'm assuming they're not wrapping with part 2? Part 3 will be on PS6 more than likely. First game to span 3 systems!

Yes some early adopters get screwed either a fast price drop/sale or the game etc is broken at launch and needs updates.Besides those two things if you're an early adopter and price goes down within months or year the fault lies in day one buyers as we all know game prices HAVE to go down over time unless it's an oldie.
