I need a new laptop for writing mostly. I want non-obsoleted rig that can update OS / word / pages whatever etc. no need for graphics etc. I’ve had a few chromebooks and did not like them, also obsolete macs are pretty difficult to work with. If anyone has a simple laptop that matches this description let me know. Will buy or trade for it.

Sailorneorune has been very happy with her refurbished ThinkPad from ebay. If you PM her I'm sure she can point you to the seller.

I have some older laptop/netbooks I'd be willing to part with on the cheap.

As long as it has ability to run a word processing app that saves files it works.

Maybe look into an older model of MacBook Pro. I'd sell you my mid-2014 model for cheap, but the trackpad doesn't work. I have the replacement kit if you wanted to tinker with it yourself though. 2014-2015 is arguably one of the best generations of MacBook Pros because the keyboards were great and lots of I/O (HDMI, USB-A, SD card, etc.).

Dont know if this link will work but i have this one from 2021 i upgraded the memory to 8 gb as there is only 1 slot i think? everything works screen is fine but case a bit beat up. this is a 14" screen so dont know if that will work for you i also upgraded to win 10 home as S was not doing it for me :) can it go win 11? dunno as it only has 64gb ssd card and that is almost full on OS alone should be perfect for typing papers though. i can let you know if it will do win 11 and how much space is exactly left now and after. i couldnt upgrade the ssd card as the screws were impossible to get out. (thus half the screws are missing and the other halh stripped).
