... when this new kid graduates!

Jesus christ. We were trying for a third about ~2 years ago, never happened, and we just gave up. Truth be told, we got lazy and decided we're too old (I turn 41 this year, my wife will be 40). This past December, we finally purged all baby stuff, EVERYTHING and my god did it feel good. So much room reclaimed, so much less clutter.

Well, and just like that, we found out we're prego! We were super nervous because of the high risk factor given her age. Last week we had a positive 12 week ultra-sound, and yesterday we got a clean bill of health on the genetic testing.

This is us sharing the news with our kid last night! The first two minutes are awesome and reminds you how sweet and innocent kids are, and not to take life so seriously!

Dude, more power to you. Based on your future age at graduation, I assume you're about 1-2 years younger than me. I have 4, and my youngest is 10. I love my kids to death, but I could NEVER start again. I'm TIRED. I could never go back to diapers and baths and kids destroying my house.

Good luck and congrats!

EDIT - I missed the part where you said you are 41. I am 42, so I stand by my comment.

Congrats and good luck! My mom had my brother at around that age (40ish), it was a 10 year gap between me and him. He seemed to have turned out fine health-wise when he was born (the sports concussions came later!).

Man I wish I had another baby. Cindy was born when I was 40 so I’m in the same boat. At least she’s 3. Congrats and live it up as if it’s the last!

Congrats dude. I always wanted 3-4 but man it's just too rough on my body. So our Leo (born last April) is our last. I still am not ruling out an adoption down the road, but I'm probably getting a hysterectomy in the next year or two due to multiple issues. I'll be 56 when my youngest is 18 which sends me into a total exitensial panic. We spend most of our days completely exhausted. I wish we could have had them earlier but am happy we are more financially stable now so maybe it is better and they'll keep us young.

I feel this. @40, I feel so old... But things happen when they're supposed to. I'd give anything to have more energy and be way more active vs legit ready to nap after a long ass day of work! Still, while having them young has obvious advantages, it definitely has disadvantages elsewhere.

Just got Logan a kickass trek mountain bike today, upgrading from a crappy Walmart training wheels bike! Looking forward to getting more outdoor with him, having another positive way to stay energetic!

Regardless, how did we all get so damn old? Ugh.

It's nuts... I was thinking yesterday how my mom was 33 when they bought their first house and it felt like they were so damn old. I'm about to be 39. I think people are staying active and acting younger longer though so that's cool. As tired as I am all the time I think being active with my kids will keep me that way. So maybe having kids later in life is the best way. I grew up poor with young parents so I prefer how it worked out I guess.

But yeah I don't know how we got so old so fast.. needs to slow the hell down!!

Well... We're down to just a few weeks left. Docs think the kid will be here ahead of schedule because (and I quote) "your kid is the size of Montana". He measured full term at 34 weeks.

My poor wife is struggling with this one. She's so ready to be done.

We're scheduled for Aug 30th, but probably a week or two earlier at this rate.

Have a kid a third kid at 41! - said no one ever, haha. Honestly though, pretty stoked. Grand scheme, woulda liked to have 4.

I turned 30 this year and my youngest is about to be 2, I'm already tired lmao. We'd probably want a third and haven't ruled it out, but my wife has hyperemesis and is violently sick the entire 9 months so we're not sure if it's in the cards.

So, I'll be 59 ...
