Help identify a cartoon movie based on a short scene from my memory

I'm hoping this presents a glaringly obvious answer for someone here on TZ. I've exhausted my usual go to's for this type of dilemma...friends, family, search engines, chat bots, etc.
I'm thinking of a scene from a cartoon movie. I think it's a Disney film, but at this point I'm not 100% certain. Here is my best description of the scene:
From the scene I recall a plain purplish blue background. What I believe is the main character is creeping from left to right on screen, possibly tip-toeing. When the character is moving ahead a skeleton-type figure creeps up behind them. When the main character turns around, the skeleton or figure crumbles to the ground. Then, the main character proceeds moving ahead at which point the skeleton figure gets back up again. The main character starts turning around at a rapid pace and the figure crumbles at a similar pace. When the main character isn't looking the stalking figure appears almost overtop of the main character, possibly with a shadowy outline of teeth or a knife on the wall behind the character. Eventually the main character catches the skeleton figure moving and the skeleton begins to dance. This is where my memory ends.
I could be mixing scenes up in my head. It's not Nightmare Before Christmas or the Disney Skeleton Dance cartoon. I thought perhaps it was one of those psychedelic song bits a la Hephalumps and Woozles or the Marching Elephants when Dumbo and the Mouse are drunk. It could be a bit from Fantasia, I haven't looked that far just yet.

As I was reading it I was thinking Fantasia but that's a broom stalking Mickey. I don't recall it starting to dance either but its worth a look.

It's definitely nothign clay-mation or stop-motion. I haven't seen Princess and the Frog. I feel like it might be a tad older than El Dorado or Treasure Planet.

You sure it's a movie? It sounds like a low budget cartoon pre 1980's.

You know, I can't say for sure if it is a movie. I had another relative ask if it was perhaps from a Disney Mickey/Goofy/Donald short. I can't rule it out.

I definitely remember this and I’m pretty sure it was a black and white short on Disney in the 80s. Reminded me of the Halloween specials they would do.

May fit the description- don’t remember all of this one but the colors look right.

The end of this has a scene almost like you described

Dang, thanks a lot @Feeb these were some great suggestions, but unfortunately not the scene I'm thinking of.

That one's a Halloween staple for this guy. Gotta watch it at least once a year.
