Any experience with "ebay international shipping"?

Even though I have domestic shipping only on my listings, ebay has been letting international buyers purchase my items. From what I gather this is a newer program. It's having me send to a hub within the US and ebay will send it overseas. Maybe there is a global setting on the desktop to remove this feature but it's nothing I ever agreed to sign up for. I didn't see anything on mobile aside from verifying my individual listing are set to domestic only.
Anyone use the "ebay international shipping" feature before? Any issues? I stopped sending international, even to Canada, many years ago due to the headaches (lost stuff, scammers,etc) so I'm not too happy I was auto enrolled in this. If I cancel the sales I'll likely get negative feedbacks.
Edit - found that I was enrolled in my shipping settings. It says "new" by the line item. I never opted in to begin with. Guess I'll see how these few sales go before making a final decision to opt out.

I've been using Global Shipping Program for years. You send to eBay warehouse in KY, and they handle the export.
Never really had a problem, except one instance, guy was clearly a scammer, and eBay resolved it in my favor.
I would not send internationally by myself. Too much of a chance something will go wrong.

My wife offers it on her eBay store and has many international buyers. As Lunar mentioned you send to eBay and eBay handles the rest. It’s worked out for my wife fairly well.

I've used the eBay International shipping several times with no problems. It is essentially no different than shipping within the US because eBay handles everything.

Basically agree with everything said above. It's generally been a great program that I recommend. I exclusively ship internationally though the Ebay program because from my end it's exactly the same as a normal sale.
I disable international returns though, as it's pretty easy to get burned. I sold a brand new keyboard to a guy overseas, he did the whole "here is some minor issue and some super zoomed in pictures, give me 75% of my purchase price back" schtick. I instead just requested he do a full return. However, after more research I realized due to the size of the item it would be far more expensive to ship it back to me than the item was worth, so I ended up just taking a loss.
So other than some potential extra awkwardness around returns, it's a net positive. Ebay tries it's best to obscure the price your buyer actually pays for shipping, but from what i've gleaned it's really expensive. But that doesn't stop people from using it.

It is yeah, I think they upcharge it a bit. At least they used to and idk why they would stop that.
Sounds like things have mostly improved but the repackaging was really rough early on. I had quit using it myself after seeing how some things arrived to buyers compared to how I sent them. This was a long time ago and international buyers have mentioned it has improved. Presumably after eBay received a bunch of complaints.

I agree with what everyone has said. I use international shipping a lot and you just send it to the nearest eBay international shipping hub, which for me is in Kentucky. I haven't had a problem with it yet and have been using it for over 5 years. Fingers crossed it stays that way.

Sometimes I will get a friend in Colorado buy things for me and get it shipped to him then he ships it to me. It ends up being cheaper. I totally get why US Ebay users use it though for the extra layer of protection. Gone are the days 20 plus years ago of sending packages without tracking. I remember early on here thinking nothing of it sending cash in the mail too.

Sometimes I will get a friend in Colorado buy things for me and get it shipped to him then he ships it to me. It ends up being cheaper. I've used it a bunch with no issues at all. Once a package was lost and they refunded the buyer and allowed me to keep my money. No complaints here.

Yeah, you ship to a facility either east or west coast stateside, and they deal with it from there.

My brother married a woman from the Philippines about 10 years ago. They frequently send "care packages" back to her family there. They found out about a service that takes their box, puts it on a pallet with several other boxes to the same country, and ships it for a lot less than shipping the individual boxes. Once in the country, the boxes are removed from the pallet and shipped individually. I imagine this is what eBay is doing.

I remember shipping a SNES console on here to Canada for like $14. A single dvd case item will be more than that now. :(
