We've done tv, movies, foods and more. Now. Let's talk booze..
Favorite beers, mixed drink recipes, shots, creative ideas, name it.
I'll start with an easy one:
1/3 cup southern comfort
1/3 cup of amaretto
1/3 cup sprite
Splash of OJ
tastes like an orange Creamsicle

A shot of peppermint Schnapps chased with a bit of chocolate syrup. Tastes like a peppermint patty.

A bourbon neat is all I need.
Edit: I’d also go for a scotch ale or hazy ipa.

Take some ice. I like 3 cubes. Then pour Jack Daniels to where the 3 ice cubes start to float. Then fill the rest of the cup with Coke. That's about as adventurous as I get with booze.

Whiskey is my favorite but makes my rosacea flare up hard, so I've had to save it for special occasions and not go overboard when doing so. I love a good Moscow Mule, so either that or a similar vodka drink is usually where I land these days.

Moscow Mule is my fav cocktail, love em. And other mule variations (gin, whiskey in particular) are good too
I like Gentleman Jack as a good but not-special-occasion whiskey, though i often just settle for Jameson. Usually double, neat, but I mix with coke sometimes too
I tried Green Spot whiskey for the first time in Dublin recently, enjoyed it
Beer wise I’m versatile, I just don’t like dark beers or sour beers generally
I’m no stranger to Gin & tonic either, I just have a limit how much tonic I can drink (gin wise the limit is much higher lol)

I did the Kentucky Boubon Trail. Toured 7 distilleries, back then there were only 8 in the official tour. Missed Wild Turkey because it snowed half an inch and they didn't open. (rolls eyes) Lot's of good Bourbon, some not so good. My favorite affordable bourbon was Town Branch, and they also made a killer Kentucky Bourbon Ale. My second favorite affordable bourbon was Four Roses Small Batch; their entry level, while good, tastes watered down already. Jim Beam had a really good bourbon in their extended family, but it was ~$120 per bottle and was not in the Jim Beam line. Can't remember the name at this time though.
Best tour was Jim Beam as they actually get you involved in the making process, but it was the only one that cost money back then. Very informative, and also memorable as I got 11 samples instead of 3. Walked out of there buzzing (had the wife drive). Woodford Reserve was my favorite tour as the bourbon was good, reasonably priced and everything felt more old timey. A few of the tours were nice as they let you sample the mash, white lightning and bourbon at various ages. Some of the tours were meh as they just run people through with a video or the host just memorized some lines, and then get to taste testing so they can sell you more bourbon at full retail price. Heaven Hills/Evan Williams "tour" was lame, but they had the best asommelier we had. That dude was honest and knew his stuff. He said straight up if your mixing bourbon, just buy the black label (their cheap bourbon). A common theme was pretty much all of them said bourbon was best served on ice (let it melt a bit first) or with a splash of water as it releases all the flavors and aromas. Damn it, it's 9 in the morning and now I'm hankering for some small batch bourbon. lol

I love a good whiskey, but I tend to drink too much when I have it, so I rarely do. Usually stick with beer, used to kind of be a craft snob but now I take whatever. A good Belgian dubbel/tripel/quad slaps. I usually just drink Abita Andygator doppelbock for the any time beer, and I'll have a big hazy double IPA on the weekends. Used to fudge with big, bold stouts but they absolutely wreck my stomach now.

I’m a Belgian Man
Delirium
Chimay
Duvel
La Chouffe
Golden Monkey’s
Don’t really mess with liquor but on occasion I can be talked in the following seasonally.
Spring/Summer: Margarita (never with margarita mix though. Always with fresh nectars)
Winter: Warm Apple cider with whiskey
Random: Baileys with half n half.

Bourbons and some scotch mainly for liquor, and any number of beers (West Coast IPAs, reds, scotch ales, marzen, cream ale, quads, anything barrel aged) are my go to.
However I'll try just about anything. We have at least one bottle of every liquor and a section in my basement for beer. Will need to take a photo for this at some point. Shelf full of bourbon county stouts and imperial stuff
And I have 3 permanent decanters for whiskey. One bulliet rye (mainly for old fashions), one is Irish crystal that is only allowed to have Irish whisky, and one is for a rotational whisky (usually around $60). That's all in the main level mini bar area, and then there's a full bar in the basement

1 can diet ginger beer
2 shots kettle one
1/4 lime
Michelob Ultra
Seltzer like White Claw
Those are the 3 primary lower carb drinks I have regularly. I'd much rather drink, for example, 3 or 4 Michelobs than 1 heavier beer. Way more alcohol and less carbs.

If you haven't checked them out, do it. Been buying their product since pre-covid. This is definitely a business that massively benefited during the Pandemic. So many new flavors ...
I love me a good Old Fashioned and their stuff is fantastic for the lazy man.
mmmmm ... yep, time to go make one

Have you guys been boozin' up your eggnog this year? I've bought some that was already mixed before and didn't like it, but I did some research (because I'm a nerd) and read about the different liquors that can be added to eggnog and in what quantities. I settled for adding 1.5 ounces to 8 ounces of eggnog. It worked like a charm! The brandy complimented it nicely and it wasn't too overpowering.
