Same. I'm not sure why I watch the Nindies. It'd be nice if they cut out the developer interviews, just show the games/trailers. I get why they do it, but it adds nothing for me.

Wake me when it’s time for the next Nintendo Direct. These nindies aren’t doing it for me anymore.

One thing I'll say about Indies, gameplay aside, many have great soundtracks.

Indies have their place. They helped keep Wii U and PS Vita afloat for far longer than either would have lasted without them when the big name publishers bailed on each of those platforms (Switch is going through this phase now).
I will say though, the indie scene has changed. They're no longer the risk takers and innovators they used to be. Remember that one infamous Nindie Direct that was remembered only for having all those farming sims? If it's not that it's roguelikes.

I like indies but there’s just too many of them saturating the market now I feel to keep up with. I just wait for buzz about the real good ones cause who has the time to sift thru the bulk of them?

There's still a lot of good and fresh stuff coming out but as indie has become more mainstream there are definitely some crutches that a lot of them are using.

Part of that is because it is now mainstream, a lot more copycats are jumping in on the trends they see.

Farming/crafting/roguelike/metroidvania backtracking are ways to significantly increase the length of your game without as significant an investment in time/resources.

Because like it or not, people still get offended if your game is short. Adding padding might dilute a game's strengths, but as long as it keeps people's interest long enough to get past the steam refund window...

Remember that one infamous Nindie Direct that was remembered only for having all those farming sims? If it's not that it's roguelikes.
I don't think that was a Nindie, I think that was a regular one. I remember there being a lit of farming/crafting in whatever one Harvestella was featured (square enix so definitely not an indie ).

Or it could have just gotten so bad that they are multiple Nintendo directs with this issue and even the big publishers want to churn out farming games.

i was actually interested in more games than normal in that nindies. MUCH less farming this time around lol. but i definitely agree that that interviews/intros do nothing for me. they are the reason why i don't watch them live.

Walmart has a lot of Switch games on sale right. Many first party $40-50. Plants vs Zombies and Monkey Ball Mania $5 each. Other games on sale too. I found Splatoon 2 for under $10 used (pegi version pictured) by a third party who claims they 100% check their used items. Figured I'd give it a shot as it was returnable to Walmart.

If you happen to head back and snag those PvZ and Monkey Ball, i’ll send ya moolah.

online, still shows as $5 on Monkey Ball, pretty sure he meant online as he talked about being able to return to Walmart

I did curbside pick-up. I never saw those prices in store.

The "return to Walmart" comment was on Splatoon 2 which was a third party seller.

My Xbox One S took a crap some time ago... So I been playing on the Switch lately... I'm working on LoZ: BotW... it's nice, colorful, but man some things bug me about it... not just the breaking of the weapons, that's more of a minor annoyance, but the horse riding controls seem "stuck" and then there's trying to get away from Guardians and getting stuck somehow when I try to avoid the beams and end up dying...

I'm not letting it deter me from playing it to completion though (not counting the DLC I saw available).

I remember Nintendo kinda making a big deal about the horseback riding in BotW, because they figured out a way so as long as you don't touch the analog stick your horse would avoid crashing into trees and stuff when running at full speed because "real horses don't crash into trees."
I don't think it ended up working out as well as they thought it would, and the horseback riding controls in Horizon and Ghost Of Tsushima felt much better to me.

Don't forget they put in a bonding aspect to horseback riding. The horse won't listen well to inputs unless Link is bonded to it to a degree.

I never really had any issues except in some tight spaces.

I will buy it! I still play this on 3DS, have not booted up the WiiU in a very long time. Would be nice to have it on Switch.

Anyone play Balatro? Super addictive rougelike deck-building game that revolves around poker mechanics. Very fun stuff. I've been playing it via PC but it's available on Switch for $15. Highly recommended if you're into that sorta thing.
