Description

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater franchise has been going strong for six games now and T.H.U.G.2 continues the series with you placed in the role of a pro skater. One day, you are thrown into a van with several other pros by two masked men....Tony Hawk and Bam Margera. They have decided to pick teams and go on a World Destruction Tour. The stakes -- the losing team pays for the whole trip!

The audio does its predecessors justice, with choices of punk, rap, and rock music to choose from. And it isn't a bad thing that you can also listen to your own music that you can download to your Xbox, just in case T.H.U.G.2's soundtrack doesn't suit you.

The gameplay is where this game shines and sometimes fades. Now, instead of finding people to give you your goals, you have a list, and a few hints. Regardless of the hints, some of these goals are just downright HARD, and sometimes the descriptions aren't as specific as they could be. Otherwise you have both Story Mode and the return of Classic Mode. This adds to the replay value that was already great with just Story Mode on hand. There are also other pros and imaginary characters to unlock. The game sometimes goes astray from being a skateboarding game and lets you ride some crazy vehicles. Now I'm not saying this is necessarily a bad thing, but sometimes I find myself thinking I'm playing "Jackass: The VideoGame".

T.H.U.G.2 isn't suitable for all ages, as it has some language. But if you are a kid with over-protective parents, just go to the game options and turn the cutscene sound and subtitles off, and there is no harm done. The controls are easy enough for a 5 year old, but again, I repeat, you may find yourself throwing your controller in frustration at the difficulty of some objectives. Otherwise, there isn't anything bad except the occasional "run into Irish men drinking on the street"....hence the "use of alcohol" in the rating.

The Graphics are as superb as they have ever been and the environments are next to fully destructible. The Story mode is a contest to see who can destroy the most things and get the most points. It includes plenty of wacky stunts for you to pull off....what do you expect with a game starring Bam Margera? The classic mode includes just that-all the classics, from collecting skate and the combo letters, getting the secret tape, and a few different things in between.

All in all, it's an amazing addition to the Franchise with several twists and turns. It is also chock full of unlockables! T.H.U.G.2 is a great game that is sure to keep you busy for hours and coming back for more.
