Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil is simply the best Horror/ First-Person-Shooter ever created. The lighting is incredible. Almost every room is pitch black and you must rely on your flashlight to get you through out the game.

The music is....Doom and you don't really concentrate on it since you constantly hear yourself cursing or zombie groans. The graphics are very very well made. It runs on the Doom 3 engine, which is one of the best graphical engines out there. It is very crisp clear and especially when it's at 1280x720 (max resolution of the game).

The story of Doom is quite basic but VERY VERY fun. The story starts a few years after the original Doom 3 with the UAC returning to Mars City for more research. You and a squad of marines are sent to investigate a dig site, and soon after you are on your own as all hell breaks loose, killing your squad. (you're on your own raspberry).

Lighting plays an important, role in this game. Every corner, every room, every stairway is near pitch black. Demons pop out of random places and next thing you know your getting slashed by a crazy fat guy with his ribcage showing. Your flashlight is your life. Nuff said. If you run out of battery in the middle of a room with no lights a headless guy is going to shred you to pieces.

The weapons in Doom are important depending what you're fighting. If a regular weak zombie is chasing after you use a pistol or the rifle. If you're fighting the 8-eyed-freaks, you'd better take out the shotgun. If you feel a little bored you might want to go cut people into pieces with your chainsaw.

Your PDA holds lots and lots of things you need to get through the game. If you see something that looks like a CD or a disk etc. you better pick it up. If you don't, you're going to be wasting your time looking for data on some random guy named Freddy Chang.

Playing Doom is magnificent. Never has mindlessly blowing heads off zombies continuously been so fun. The gameplay in a nutshell is.... run, small yell (from you), a couple dozen bullets, some weird chick yelling "Where's my baby?", and the constant jump from your seat because things keep popping out of random places. A mouse and keyboard beats the hell out of the gamepad in this game. I have tried both, and there are too many weapons to have on a gamepad and makes you trip up over what you want to take out. The next thing you know, you'll be trying to kill a 8-eyed-freak with a flashlight....and that isn't going to work.

All in all, Doom 3 is a really really good game that deserves at least one play through. Boss battles are cool. The lighting makes it one of the scariest games on the video game market. The weapons are inventive and as fun to use as they are in the first Doom. All of this will have you coming back for more.
