Have some free time and some extra money to use right now. Own a drone, tried a massage chair, hot tub, smart watch and others but can't seem to find anything to improve my life and to keep. Any ideas? I don't like collectibles and knick knacks and have enough PSN, Eshop for the games I want.

A hammock?

A fish tank can be pretty great and customizable, but requires maintenance.

A wife and kids'll definitely take care of both your free time and disposable income. wink

All joking aside, I recommend you invest or, at the very least, set aside and save your extra income for retirement. I also suggest volunteering with some of your free time. It really does feel good to help out others. love

I'd say get an Aerogarden.

It's a fun, easy way to dip your toe into gardening/growing food. You can do it year round, and it's simple to clean and maintain. Pretty quick results too. If you grow lettuce in it, you can be eating food from the Aerogarden 14 days after you set it up. You can grow other things, cherry tomatoes for example, but they take a couple of months before you can start eating them.

Joking aside, you can seriously grow lettuce in just 2 weeks?

Guess it depends on what you're trying to do? Leisure? Career? Health?

Leisure:
- Build a MAME/Pi type custom setup?
- Two chicks at the same time
- Community work
- 3d printer

Career:
- Depends on where you're at/going, lots of recommendations here

Health:
- Peloton and Tonal are absolutely amazing! We just got our Tonal last week, and it's better than expected.

If you don't have one get a bidet. Besides saving a ton on toilet paper, my behind has never felt cleaner. Those Europeans have been doing it right for a long time.

I've never understood bidets. So instead of wiping the poop off my butt I'm wiping the dirty water? I guess that's better... or if you aren't wiping hoe do you dry your butt?

It's just throughly cleans the area. Nothing stuck or hanging around if you catch my drift. I was super late to the party with them but once I finally gave it a go, there was never any need for a random rewipe during the day. Plus to give you an idea...I probably used at least 75% less toilet paper per bathroom visit. It's really just a wipe dry and get any residue.

If you're not getting those perfectly tapered turds (https://youtu.be/OkS...), a bidet is good way to wash away that fecal matter instead of smearing it all over your crack. They also help reduce hemorrhoids and are better for the environment (https://www.webmd.co...)

Yep - give or take a day or two. It's absurd how quickly it grows. You aren't going to get a lot of lettuce at first, but you can get a sandwich or two worth of lettuce in about two weeks, and then as the plant continues to grow your yield will increase significantly. As long as you harvest it right (clip the outer leaves, so that the inner leaves continue to grow) it will provide you with a good amount of lettuce for 2-3 months.

The instruction manual says it takes 3 weeks for lettuce but in my experience it's a bit faster than that.

@ued222 Sounds like it's worth trying out the Aerogarden. Grow your own sandwich fillings, etc.

If you go this route there are many websites with free models to download. I use the one below the most.

I back 3D printer too. I've always wanted one, just endless possibilities on what to print. One of these days, I tell ya.

Boxing, BJJ. Do things instead of buying things. My boxing dried up with injuries and age, so SCCA racing is my next step. I want to build my old Camaro into a hill climb (asphalt style race) competitor. I guess it's still $$$$ lol.

I'll keep doing BJJ though.

I bought a Peloton last summer and have been using it for over a year now. It's been worth it. I've dropped 13 pounds over the last year and feel healthier, look slimmer, and have more energy.

I really want to get a Peloton. Maybe for Christmas.

We took a bunch of money and put it into the house to make the living space nicer and more enjoyable. New windows all around, new sliding glass door for the back. We're getting a new deck that is bigger with a screened in portion that I can't wait for. I am thinking it'll be my workout/escape room from all the noise and madness in the house.

Also recommend a 3D printer just for fun and the Steam Deck because it's amazing.

Glass nail file (Bona Fide brand is good, it is genuine etched Czech glass). Way better than emery board.

Neck cooling ring (a common brand is CoolTime USA). Contains a refrigerant that freezes in the fridge (18 Celsius). Very soothing, comfortable, and cool without being icy.

Natural sea sponge for the shower. I like Rock Island Wool sponges, they are very soft. I recommend Natural Bath and Body Shop, I've ordered from them for many years.

Take up leather crafting. It is not a cheap hobby, but you can make one of a kind pieces that will endure.

Splurge on the finest chocolate. I recommend Askinosie for bars and Christopher Elbow for filled chocolates (I haven't tried their bars yet).
