Description

Kirby: Canvas Curse provides lots of entertainment and good replay value.

At first, you look at this game and probably say "Wow, what a stupid idea". Then you play it, and it's amazing. In the begining, you have the choice of doing a tutorial, and I recommend it if it is your first time playing K: CC. It guides you along at a steady pace, not making you learn too much too fast. It could possibly be one of the best tutorials I've ever seen. It is great fo helping you understand how to play Canvas Curse.

It is so good, literally anyone can pick up this game, pass the tutorial and then play the game with ease. For example, my 6-year-old sister loves Kirby, so I had her play this game. At first she didn't get it, then after the tutorial she got it right away.

The gameplay is solid, usually having you do the same thing, guide Kirby along a rainbow you make with your stylus. Sometimes the gameplay gets repetitive, but not so often that you lose interest. Of course, Kirby has the ability to gain powers by swallowing enemies. You can get fire, turning you into a flaming ball shooting out a short distance, rock, ice, where a freeze shield surrounds you and freezes any thing it touches, and electricity, where you use thunderbolts much like Pikachu's thunder from Super Smash Brothers Melee. During parts of most levels, you have to do a bit of puzzle solving by poking spots on the bottom screen with your stylus. There are also three medals hidden through out each level, which you use to buy things in the medal shop.

There are also line trials and time trials, in which you must beat a part of the level with a certain amount of time or line power. Some of them are extremely hard using kirby, so use Metaknight for those ones. There are a total of 6 medals unlockable in each level, (not world, that's 18) which you get by scoring high.

If you have Kirby and the Amazing Mirror or Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland, and they are in the GBA slot in your DS, start the game and choose your file, because you can now choose a new character to beat the levels with! Each Kirby game unlocks a different character, but the others are bought in the medal shop. Each of the four unlocked characters are different. For example, The King is a lot heavier than Metaknight, but Metaknight has less health. You do not have to get the medals with each, because no matter who gets it, it counts for your whole file. So say you got two of the medals with Kirby, then the last one with Metaknight, you got all the medals in that level, and the same goes for time/line trials.

Because of all things you have to go back for to unlock things and and beat the game 100%, Kirby Canvas Curse has excellent replay value. The graphics could use some work, because they look almost identical to GBA graphics, although it doesn't hurt in the least because this game is so phenomenal.

This game is pretty easy to pick up and play, because it's pretty straight-forward and isn't that complicated. Quite honestly, this game won't take you that long to beat the first time, but It will take a long time, however, to get 100%.

This game could use some multiplayer, like versus line/time trials. No multiplayer is really the only flaw to Kirby: Canvas Curse.

If you have a DS, you should definitely think of picking this game up, 'cause it's up there with the other outstanding games for the DS like Mario Kart DS and Advance Wars: Dual Strike. Buy it, trade for it here on GameTZ , borrow it from a friend, whatever you can do, play this game.

If you want to get 100% complete, you must beat the game fully with all characters, beat all levels of all the minigames with an A, AA, or AAA rating (which for the third difficulty the challenges are EXTREMELY hard), and get all the medals, and buy everything in the medal shop.
