Currently has a May 12 2023 release date. That's just over 4 months away. That's not so far, but there isn't that much known about it.

Here's a video that has the reveal trailer and other info that has so far been released.

https://youtu.be/30D...

Is it unusual for such an anticipated title that's only several months away to not have much known about it?

I don't usually follow games along their pre-release stages, so perhaps a lack of info is standard.

Personally, I'd rather a lack of info when it comes to games that I plan on playing. I don't care for spoilers, or to watch every trailer that comes out.

I'd have thought there'd be more out about it though. But again, I don't usually follow along with the progress of game development.

Definitely a game I'm looking forward to though.

Went ahead and ordered the Piggyback Hardcover Guide for TOTK and Extended Edition for BOTW while they are discounted. Have not wanted a guide in a long while but for some reason am drawn to the TOTK one and got the BOTW one for good measure. I know you can find it all on the internet but have loved these two games so much, I look forward the flipping through these books.

I'm back to REALLY enjoying this game again. I made some nice progress over the long weekend. Unlocked my first fairy fountain and upgraded all of my gear, which has cut down on the one-hit kills dramatically. I'm up to a full extra circle of stamina. Found my first piece of climbing gear, my favorite gear from BotW. Added several weapon/bow slots. And finally, I've started on the quests that lead to my first dungeon. I think I'm pretty close to entering it, so I'm really looking forward to seeing what it's like. Oh yeah, I also finally explored the depths a bit, that was fun.

I decided to explore as much as possible and finally finish unlocking the full overworld map. I'm trying to discover as many caves and shrines as possible and unlocked 3 of the great fairy fountains. I am trying to explore the depths as much as possible, and I'm trying to farm for zonaite so I can upgrade my battery.

@KCPenguins thank you for the tip about the lightroots/shrines. That has really helped. If I find a lightroot without a shrine at that location, I mark it on the overworld. I also try to follow the overworld to find the next closest lightroot.

I finished the 4 main temples over the long weekend and then decided to do the "photographing the depths" quest (or whatever it's called). Got autobuild + the shrine sensor, found the Yiga Clan fella. When I play again I'll probably work on following the rest of the statues in the Depths. Definitely making progress, but now I want to slow down that progress and focus on side quests to enjoy the exploration as much as possible before continuing the main story as I feel like I'm already approaching the endgame.

Think I wanna fix up the village that the pirate monsters attacked too, so that may be what I do next if I need a break from the Depths.

Honestly the underworld was a slog until I figured that out. It got a lot better then, but still some lightroots were a huge pain. The crap I was building didn't last or get me where I needed to be. I burned through all my stamina buffs climbing. One rootwas obviously meant for cheesing with construct devices as even with various low level construct builds and full stamina it still took a buff. So then I figured I better get better at building. Figured out what all the different stuff was, upgraded my battery some, found more construct gumball machines, dumped a ton into those.

The Depths are definitely a slog. They are very difficult to get through. And I don't see too much of a point as of now other than collecting zonaite to upgrade my battery. Most of my vehicles that I like to use take up a lot of battery. The vehicles that use less battery are not good for getting through the depths. My favorite vehicle only uses two fans but I fly through the battery very quickly.

Have you done the photograph quest yet, or the quest that's initiated right after it? Those are the quests to follow to get the most out of the depths. I also thought they were a slog, just kinda boring and pointless, but when you actually follow the quests that send you down there, they become a lot more interesting.

I haven't been playing as much as I'd like... but I finished 110 shrines and 3 sage quests (Wind, Fire and Lightning). LOVED Wind... was really awesome. I am on the path to Water, just doing the Zora fetch quests at the moment... easily GOTY for me, really loving it.

I now have all of the shrine sensors, travel medallion (super useful to place is weird Sky areas to glide down from!), and camera... finally making progress. Though I ill focus in on side quest adventures that I've not completed after I finish the Water section.

Does anyone have a sure-fire depths location for Large Zonite? I need a lot more for battery upgrades.

It is easily missed! The paraglider too... I tend to run off when I can and avoid main quests haha

I need to stop shrine hunting and work more on side quests and side quest adventures... hope to do this later this week so my to-do menu isn't as disasterous.

> the sky and depths! It's stuff like this that makes me dislike the non-linear nature of this game. I wish it were more linear so that you would get key/helpful stuff like this at an appropriate point in your progress.
It is my fault for not following the main quest more. But I understand the sentiment. I love the freedom, but sometimes it can be a bit too loose (whereas God of War Ragnorok would block off areas until you proceeded with the main quest, etc).

So the duping glitch is not working for me anymore. I don't believe there was a patch/update. I just built my house and unloaded a bunch of weapons, maybe it's tied to only having 2 bows, or maybe it's the area. And speaking of building houses, this game keeps getting more like Animal Crossing, except for the killing and dying.
It doesn't work in 1.1.2. But prior versions it should work just fine. I'm on 1.1.1 and don't plan on ever updating.

Are you referring to the quest that gets you the auto build? Is there another quest that I missed?

Glad to see the Amiibo armor is in the game naturally. Seeing how you get one of them really makes me question how anyone was supposed to figure it out on their own. I wonder if the fashion lady gives hints on it and marks the map?

Trying to find Hateno Village so I can get the autobuild and Shrine sensor. It's more east and less south than what Robbie tells you.... Still making my way to that tower

I pretty well forgot about the Hateno stuff and Robbie's upgrades after getting the shrine sensor (which isn't the most useful when you've gotten most of the shrines outside of caves). Went back and talked to Robbie, and after a short side mission and a few dialogues everything was upgraded maxed. Maybe should've done that sooner...

Has anyone heard any stories/reports of people having TotK auto-update to 1.1.2 even though they have auto-update turned off? A friend of mine said it happened to him, but I've not seen it mentioned anywhere else. I feel like he just messed up and clicked "Download" when re-launching the game.

I've kept my Switch offline. Going to continue doing so until I'm good with where I have Link at.

I was wondering around the depths and encountered a dragon! Spent the next 10-15 minutes just riding around on it straight on out of the depths. When I finally decided to jump off I was over an area of the map that I hadn't unlocked yet, so I headed for the first sky tower I saw and found another glyph to unlock another memory. Good way to end the night last night. So much fun.
