Saturday yard sales here in Baltimore got rained out, but Sunday was beautiful so I hit some that moved their date later by one day. First up was a community sale where I scored some goodies for the kids and this nice little Game Boy/DS lot for $25. One person mentioned maybe having some Intellivision buried in the basement, but they didn't seem keen on digging it out so I didn't press them on it. [imgt w=4032 h=3024]https://i.imgur.com/...[/imgt] After that I hit a community flea market on the other side of town and picked up the following items for $13. We recently rewatched the Keanu Reeves' Constantine (a better movie than most people give it credit for, IMHO), so I figured I'd pick up these books since they were only $1 apiece. [imgt w=4032 h=3024]https://i.imgur.com/...[/imgt] And for what it's worth, I'm planning on keeping the items in the second picture but everything in the first picture except for Looney Tunes, Pac-Man Collection, and My Frogger are available for trade. I was thinking of keeping Advance Wars: Dark Conflict since it's kind of odd to find a PAL game in the wild here, but I already have Days of Ruin so if there's someone out there keen to get all of the original Advance Wars games I don't mind parting with it.Very nice finds! Cool.

Since I'm very busy this weekend, I managed to convince a woman on my garage sale site to open her sale early for me. For $15, I walked away with Very Good, CIB copies of Super Mario Galaxy, Mario Strikers Charged, Mario Super Sluggers, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and Wii Sports Resort. Those all range from $15-30 values, so I'm quite happy. Here's to a bountiful garage sale season!

I just nabbed CIB copies of Locoroco 1 and 2 for $23.30. I’ve been low key looking out for them since November. Every time I find a listing that puts both games together, I put it in my watchlist and it vanishes the next day. So when I saw this a few minutes ago, I made sure to jump on it. The first game’s box has a stain on it, but it’s pretty minor. This was a good deal overall in my eyes.

Pretty good day of yard sales:
image
Each movie was $.50, about half are to keep. Needed sleeves on a couple of Korean films.
image
Buffy was $5, Skylanders were $40.
image
Apparently in Japan, Evil Dead is called Captain Supermarket?

I found a bundle of ElfQuest books at the flea market. The first eight volumes for 20 bucks (down from $24).
A set of volumes 1 to 6 recently sold for 500 bucks... the books I got aren't in the mintiest shape, but they're readable, so anything I get is good with me.
Also I want that Ghostbusters 1+2 set. :p

Picked up Samus/EMMI and Zelda Loftwing Amiibos from Gamestop for $5 each. Mud boots for my kid for $3 at a flea market. Could've bought some decent Xbox/PS2 games for $3 each, but I'd never play them so I let someone else get the deal. (Nothing super valuable)
At the flea market I saw 3 tables selling 3d printed stuff. They had pretty hefty prices on them, and all of them had stuff that they weren't licensed to sell. Not surprising.

Struck out at various garage sales today. The place that had all the video games was also an unkempt place with many cats, you can imagine the smell

I'd say the disappointment and regret of not getting something you were thinking about getting, because now it's no longer available, is often much higher/stronger than the feeling of looking back at the purchase and deciding that it wasn't a great purchase after all.

Saturday morning yard sales were kind of disappointing - I hit 20-30 houses and didn't see any competition, but there were no video games to be found. There were lots of houses that said they were holding on to old games for their adult children, and while I can respect that it gets kind of frustrating to hear after the fourth or fifth time. The best I came home with was a $1 small Samsung flatscreen for use when I set up games at events.
Sunday was kind of great, though. I didn't go out in the morning, but in the afternoon some local kids were going down the street to let people know they were having a yard sale nearby. It was about to time to take the kids out to the park, so I figured what the heck and stopped by. Anyway, I mentioned video games and the mom (who we know a little from around the neighborhood) brought out a box with the items below. I offered $60, she said she was thinking $20, so we settled on $40 since she wasn't sure any of it still worked. A few hours later and with a little elbow grease I got everything working, plus she said they might have more stuff in the basement, so that's rad. So yeah, random kids came by my house to tell me about a yard sale 2 minutes away and I found good games for cheap. Peak yard sale experience right there.

I can't vouch for that, but speaking of Evil Dead and Japan have you ever seen Bloody Muscle Body Builder in Hell? It's often referred to as Japanese Evil Dead and it's absolutely great if you like classic Evil Dead 1 or 2.

I uh, bought a PC. Sort of.
One of my usual flea market booths brings boxes full of electronics on Tuesdays, and I usually go there to buy cables or other things I might need. I found a power supply that caught my attention and I pulled on it, and out came a mini PC thing.
One of these: https://www.amazon.c...
I tried powering it up there but didn't really notice anything. So I asked how much and was told "five bucks." I got home, started poking at it, still couldn't get power so I opened it up. 4 GB RAM and a 128 GB SSD inside. Okay. I reset the CMOS thinking that might be the problem but then I looked at the extension I use and noticed... it was set to the off switch. So I turned that back on and got power. It booted to a fresh Windows 10 install, but I shut it off when it asked me for a country.
The thing has a Windows 10 Pro OEM sticker with a key attached to the bottom, so my guess is this had an OS at some point but was reset when it was tossed or donated or whatever. I'll poke around it a bit more to see if it has any issues, but it's nice to have a secondary Windows 10 PC I can use for capturing video. I just need to get more RAM and a bigger SSD...
