"RULES"
1. Respect each other and the gamekeeper(s) - this activity is a gift to the community, and jerks kill the fun. 2. Beat games. Proof is NOT required via an image, but lying is lame and you won't win anything for beating the most games. All you get is bragging rights. 3. It doesn't matter when you started the game - as long as you finish it this year, it counts. However, you cannot load up a finished save file and refight the final boss to get a clear. 4. DLC campaigns can count as a single clear for their respective game, so beating The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and The Champion's Ballad counts as two clears: BOTW and BOTW DLC. Any further DLC completed for that game will be lumped into the first campaign. 5. If you are interested in badges, when you beat a game for one, include something like 'Counts towards badge X' OR 'Earns me badge X, first game was Y.' One particular badge requires proof to obtain, however. 6. All participating past gamekeepers are thanked with a medal: image |

My #13 is Resident Evil 0.
https://imgbox.com/G...
This is the beginning of my quest to play through all the Resident Evil games, 0-8 and finishing with RE4 Remake at the end.
Resident Evil 0 is the prequel to the Resident Evil mansion incident and is odd in that you control two characters, Rebecca and Billy. There are a couple puzzles that involve their co-operation, and of course they get seperated at times, but in all it doesn't really add much to the RE formula. Gameplay is a lot of inventory management and walking/loading through doors. Add in a puzzle that can only be solved by looking up a guide, a anti-climatic boss battle, and I think this one will be one of my least favorite RE games. 7/10

Hey, @benstylus : You’re a knowledgeable Sega fan. Can you tell me if Sonic Blast is bad? I’m pretty sure it is, but I’m looking for verification.
image
It’s a pre-rendered Sonic game for 8-bit hardware, and the sprites are humongous as a result. I admire the ambition, which is the only real reason I bought this during the eShopocalypse, but it’s a bad look here. Hit detection is finicky, the special stages give you poor depth perception, and the water zones are a real slog. All the characters look like Happy Meal toys, and I’m not the first person to make that comparison.
I’ll give them credit for the name, though. Sonic 3D Blast was a pre-rendered isometric game for the Genesis, so chopping “3D” off the title implies that it’s limited to a 2D plane, while keeping the “Blast” name since it’s associated with pre-rendered graphics. That’s the smartest part of this game.

#16 down: Horizon: Call of the Mountain on PSVR2. I would like to count it toward the Bear & Bird trophy. It's obviously in 3-D, there are 181 collectibles, and, when you Google it, the first genre listed in the knowledge panel is "platform game." Most of the game involves climbing and jumping, swinging, or sliding across things while looking for collectibles.
I am really impressed with this game. The Metacritic scores don't do it justice. The graphics are a noticeable improvement over any other VR game I've ever played, the combat is satisfying, the climbing is awesome, and there are some really great cinematic moments when you feel like you're inside an action movie. I even enjoyed the puzzles (which is not usual for me). Also, it's hard to describe just how breathtaking it is to see a tallneck in VR. This game is a home run and really showcases the tech well.

speaking of. If I beat a PSVR2 game. Can I add "PSVR2" to my systems? Or do you want us to just count them as "PS5" games? Legit curious as I'm about to beat one.

That'll go toward PSVR2, which will be added to your systems. Though I don't think we have a logo for that yet.

That's a wrap for February, folks! Thanks to everyone who's participated. I will now share some stats:
-We beat 59 games altogether this month, which is a little over half of last month's. Makes sense--players usually kick down the metaphorical door in January and then take it easier the month after.
-We earned 9 badges, which isn't far off from January's 13. Keep 'em coming!
-We even got an additional player: bonham2! I'm always glad to welcome participants no matter the month.
In the meantime, I'm gonna curl up with Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe and wait for the weather to improve. Anyday now, I hope.

I'm late as always, lol.
I think I only beat one game on February, and that was Wario Land 3 for the GBC. I didn't remember it having that many levels, but it was nice to go back to it. Cool game fosho.

I missed my 4th of Feb by about 45 mins, so this will be my first of March... obviously
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order - beat it on
Since you dropped the Sasori Vader I think this counts for the Hackin' and Slashin' badge, is my first
I started this one like a year ago and it didn't really get me too much, but a friend recently beat it and with the sequel coming I wanted to give it another try and am very glad I did as it's a solid game. I hadn't really realized it was a little bit like Souls in that you couldn't just attack, attack, attack and if a foe killed you, you would want to return and at least hit them to get your XP back. I also had it on the Jedi Knight difficulty that after the Story level and another, I figured was more normal, but really it was more like hard. I eventually dropped that down and only died a few more times in the whole game vs. a bit too often earlier on - but I also picked up on several combat things and was just way better with parrying, dodging and so on.
It's likely my favorite of the year so far, even above God of War 3, but I also learned to better pace myself from playing GoW3, Cuphead and Tianding so the combat was a lot more enjoyable when I wasn't getting killed and better controlled my character. I actually beat the final 2 bosses on my 2nd try, so I know I was a lot better with the combat.
I ended up 1 skill short and had a few other achievements I was really close on, so I went back in and earned a few and got to 100% on a 3rd planet, so with a few more things I'm pretty sure I'll push for 100% on all planets and seek to get a few more achievements. If I didn't have a massive backlog I would actually consider playing this on NG+, but instead I'll be looking forward to the sequel.

I haven't been as heavy a hitter so far this year. But I just spent $3k to get my projector home theater system upgraded to 4K. So I've been watching blu rays on my large screen almost every morning I get home. But I'll get back into grind mode at some point this year.

Unique Systems Covered: 3/37
Total Games Beaten: 6
I plan on playing a few different versions of this game on different platforms, so I'll link a write-up once I've gone through them all.
I'm still pretty deep into Final Fantasy VI. It'll probably be a few more weeks until that's finally in the books.

Continuing the Retro Talkshop Thread's dive into Virtua Fighter, I played through the 32X version - on MiSTer! - with Pai. Mmmm... pie... I'm still shocked that this is a real core for the MiSTer. Playing with a controller was a lot more enjoyable than on the tiny arcade controls of the Astro City Mini, but that's about the only way that the 32X version was better.

If you're planning to play other fighting games this year, you could always count these two VFs toward the Facelift badge. They are two different versions of the same game, after all.
