Currently has a May 12 2023 release date. That's just over 4 months away. That's not so far, but there isn't that much known about it.
Here's a video that has the reveal trailer and other info that has so far been released.
https://youtu.be/30D...
Is it unusual for such an anticipated title that's only several months away to not have much known about it?
I don't usually follow games along their pre-release stages, so perhaps a lack of info is standard.
Personally, I'd rather a lack of info when it comes to games that I plan on playing. I don't care for spoilers, or to watch every trailer that comes out.
I'd have thought there'd be more out about it though. But again, I don't usually follow along with the progress of game development.
Definitely a game I'm looking forward to though.

I'm more interested in if there will be a fork.

I hope there's some sort of tease of a Minish world involved in the game, but I know that's unlikely.

I want to replay it... *Distant slightly agitated whispering* nevermind, my backlog says absolutely not, at least for now. Well, at least that's a maybe. š

Truly is a gem. I finally beat it for the first time after starting it a bunch of times since it dropped on NSO. Easily top 5, maybe top 3 Zelda games for me. On a good day, it could even be my #1, I love it that much.
Even though I hadn't beat it until recently, I've always dug the shrinking mechanic dating back to when I first started playing it years ago. I'd love to see that brought to a BOTW style Zelda, even if for just a few sections.
Imagine running around the giant open world before suddenly spotting patches of flowers in parallel lines, and then having to bomb a nearby boulder or something to uncover a shrinking portal. That'd be so neat, but I'm probably getting ahead of myself here. I won't be let down if there's nothing Minish-related, but I'd be over the moon if there was.

I really hope this game ends up being another home run for Nintendo, and a huge step forward for Zelda (not just Breath of the Wild 2.0).

@theJaw Yeah, if there was a Minish related mechanic, I'd be really excited, but I'm not expecting it. Was there talk of it possibly being in the game?

I'd really like to see some old school 2D dungeons, or even a nod to that, in Tears of the Kingdom. Won't be a deal breaker if not, because I don't think we can expect it, but if it does turn out to have that, that would be really great.

Well, apparently Minish-style shrinking and at least one Minish village was originally included in early concepts of BOTW. Thereās official art of it and all:
https://www.reddit.c...
If they returned to this concept for TotK, it could potentially explain the extended development cycle the game has seen.
Also, and this is neither here nor there, but thereās something about the title āTEARS of the Kingdomā that invokes the idea that the Minish are the tiny tears of Hyrule to meā¦ small, hidden and forgotten. Brushed aside, etc etc. I remember Nintendo didnāt want to reveal the title of the game too early for fear itād give away too much of the plot, but upon hearing the title I wondered what they meant because it didnāt seem to give anything away. But maybe with that theory in mind, it sorta does?
I dunno. Again, thatās just me letting my mind wander, and it is a bit of a stretch, but itād be neat.

Those new mechanics are pretty badass. Would have liked a bit more story information but I'm fine just waiting to get surprised while I play the game. Happy to see that there are some neat new mechanics, the potential for puzzles using those mechanics is huge.

Gonna do my best to be on top of this, but y'all know I'm a gosh darn Zelda collector weirdo. Please tag me if this goes live! Happily throw ya some subtime or a finder's fee If I'm able to snag because of your communication.
Just cancelled my 4pm meeting, haha.

Called local GS ... they are prepping for people to line up around 330, but will be taking instore pre-orders.
Feel like it's not worth the risk and giving up my computer to buy online.
