Currently has a May 12 2023 release date. That's just over 4 months away. That's not so far, but there isn't that much known about it.
Here's a video that has the reveal trailer and other info that has so far been released.
https://youtu.be/30D...
Is it unusual for such an anticipated title that's only several months away to not have much known about it?
I don't usually follow games along their pre-release stages, so perhaps a lack of info is standard.
Personally, I'd rather a lack of info when it comes to games that I plan on playing. I don't care for spoilers, or to watch every trailer that comes out.
I'd have thought there'd be more out about it though. But again, I don't usually follow along with the progress of game development.
Definitely a game I'm looking forward to though.

Has anyone mentioned the exclusive in-store physical preorder bonus from GameStop?

Yeah, they can be really awkward in the shrine puzzles, but they're great for making slight adjustments to your aim when shooting arrows.
I can confirm this. On the Wii U the gyro shrine puzzles behaved MUCH better with the gamepad. They were pretty atrocious on Switch, which is further proof BotW was a Wii U game from the get go. Makes me wonder if all of the inventory control was originally done on the gamepad screen when not playing handheld and they yanked it so the Switch version wouldn't be inferior.
Slight adjustments to shooting arrows was great on both though.

That is cool, but I think I'd rather save $10 on my copy (ordered on Amazon before the price increase) than have it. It looks to be approximately the size of two Switch cases, which makes it a bit too small to properly display.

If a less known game had a leak, maybe the studio would welcome the attention, but this game doesnt have a lack of attention.

The artists probably dying to leak it. Corperate Nintendo is the only one that I would imagine would be upset.

Currently playing Trine in the meantime, while waiting for Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, (and in order to free up space on my Switch)

I just (finally) completed the Middle Trials of the Trail of the Sword in BotW.
I barely survived the last floor with the Guardian Scout IV, used both faries, had about 4 hearts left.

It's a little frustrating, but I keep trying, learn to play a bit better and eventually beat the first 2 parts. I still have the final part to do... we'll see. My motivation isn't that strong. Just playing a little here and there. I already beat the game years ago and I don't really use the master sword that much. It's just something to do.

Nice Did you do the other DLC? I think it was called the Champion's Ballad. The one that adds extra shrines and stuff.

I thought I had in the past, but maybe I didn't get that far with it. It starts with that one-hit obliterator thing. I don't do great with stuff that requires I take zero damage.

Yeah I believe that was the first part of it. I was worried about that section, but I ended up really enjoying it. Even if you don't like it, it's worth powering through. The extra shrines they added are top-notch, some of the best shrines in the game. You also get some cool stuff by completing everything.

Yeah, I should give it a more serious try. Maybe after I finish the final sword trial.

I cannot wait for this game. I’ve been needing a new giant open world game to distract me from the day-to-day.
Rumors swirling that the Minish show up again in the game. If there’s a sky world, a normal over world, AND a Minish world (or at least segments of a Minish world), I will crap my britches. Would also likely explain the fairly long development time.

Unless you count Dragon Quest Builders, I think Breath of the Wild was the last huge open world exploration type game that I beat, and that was awhile ago. I did try Immortals Fenix Rising, but didn't get into it.

The timing sucks with D4! A month feels like pressure to binge it before D4 takes over all gaming. Sadly I binged BotW as my first kid was on the way. Really don't want to repeat that mistake (ha, binging a great game that is).
I just hope to be done with RE4 and possibly Hogwarts before TotK comes out.
