Can you remap the controls on the Switch version? I'd totally give that a go after work if so.
You will have to remap controls outside of the game using the Switch controller mapping setting. (I presume, haven't looked at the details). This will change the button mapping for all games, but you can always go back to defaults.

Goldeneye was only good to me for multiplayer. Me and my cousins used to tear into split screen coop back on the day. I never got passed the 2nd level in Goldeneye single player back then. It was all about multiplayer and finding that golden gun and yelling at the annoying person who picked Odd Job.

I loved the single player too. I enjoyed beating each mission on each difficulty, then trying to unlock all of the cheat codes.

Went ahead and booted up the ole Xbox SX being I have Rare Replay Digital. You have to manually go to the MS Store and download the (Goldeneye) game, it says you own it. I assumed it would auto update. Will have to compare the two.

Adjusted the controls to "standard" on Switch and it's much better. Next up, break out the pro controller and try it docked.
Update: Halfway through single player with pro controller docked. This is pretty awesome. No issues with slow down so far, graphics crisp 64 bits. Having fun trying to remember what to do. Getting all cheats likely beyond my current ability, not sure if you get the same speed in this control style with strafing forward. This isn't n64 Goldeneye, but it's a bastard child with modern controls. I'm excited.

The latter but you can also get it on Xbox.
I changed the button mapping according to the top post in that reddit link. It plays just like most modern shooters now.

For years, I thought the Donkey Kong game I loved as a kid was "Mario vs. Donkey Kong" on GBA but anytime I played that game, it was fine but it never felt right. Welp I JUST realized that the game I was ACTUALLY thinking of was the original Game Boy game simply titled "Donkey Kong". The game has GB versions of the original arcade levels, but then the Mario vs. DK style levels kick in with new enemies and the whole key shtick. I never realized it was this game for years because it's just called "Donkey Kong" so I just assumed it was a port of the arcade game with nothing else. Weird. Anyhow, very pumped to replay this one. I just love the level designs. They need to make more games like this bad boy.

After the internet became a thing this became known as Donkey Kong '94. A true gem and testament to what a good idea and programming can achieve with limited resources. Great soundtrack too! One of my favorite games.

Yah, I'm definitely going to give Mario vs. Donkey Kong another go when I finish DK 94. It never felt "right" to me when I started it previously, but that's because I thought it was an entirely different game haha. So hopefully I dig it more now that I've scratched the ol' DK 94 itch.

Nintendo's Mario Kart ride at Universal limits riders to ~40in waistline. The internet is raging...
What waistline is acceptable for accommodating? I'm sure 40 inches is far beyond acceptable in Japan.

Maybe it'll motivate some people to lose weight. Nintendo, weight losing motivators!

Haha of course the internet is raging. They have every right to limit the ride how they deem safe.

Well... they've been pushing this for quite some time.
Also many headlines are saying it's only for "thin people". I'm 6 foot, and my waistline is 34. Per BMI I'm considered obese... Good to see the media considers me thin while rail thin models are being depicted as "healthy".
