We should set up a "GTZ Nintendo Switch Goldeneye Night" tbh, just so I can absolutely OBLITERATE you all.

I played Goldeneye pretty recently and was surprised how much it held up. Although this is coming from a 39 year old who lived and breathed the N64/PSX days. I imagine a 15-25 year old would hate these. Which is great, a bunch of old folks playing a multiplayer FPS. I might stand a chance haha.
I have often wondered what games hold up and what don't in the eyes of the younger generation. Home consoles have been around 50 years now and have been a part of pop culture for at least 35 of those years. Alot of games those of us born in the early 80s would call classic but would kids coming up today consider them good. That's why I don't really mind remakes, brings classic story and gameplay with modern graphics.

I'm the opposite, I played the crap out of Goldeneye back in it's prime and loved it so much, but now I think it's aged horribly. I've gone back to it a few times in my adult life and each time it seems worse and worse.
That said, I'd probably be down to jump on an online match with some of y'all, that could be fun

I borrowed Bayonetta from the library and the presentation of this game is wild. I never played it on PS3 or Wii U despite owning the 1+2 combo pack on Wii U and 1 on PS3. I'm playing it handheld right now.

The game looks great, unfortunately it plays exactly as I thought it would without an N64 controller. If Xbox got updated modern controls, it's the winner. I'll probably try playing around with custom buttons, but like most n64 games, this just doesn't work well on a standard controller. Hopefully N gets there head out of their ass and releases a decent supply of n64 controllers.

You're playing a Nintendo 64 game. They're all awful.
Besides Superman 64.

Same. We played constantly. I went back a handful of years ago and dear god ... It's best to leave this one locked up in the memory vault.

Count me in the minority, I still love it.
Tons of articles and videos on customizing controls already. I had plans to try to somewhat replicate the n64 controls on joycon, but many are showing adjustments to make it "modern" fps controls. Will be playing around with it at home later this afternoon. Once I get something I like best believe I'm ripping through single player again, at least on agent mode.

Yeah, I saw several comments on Reddit that walk you through adjusting the control scheme:
https://www.reddit.c...
I'm actually much more interested in giving this game another chance with a more modern control scheme.

Can you remap the controls on the Switch version? I'd totally give that a go after work if so.

GoldenEye was one of the few Nintendo 64 games that supported dual analog sticks by plugging in a second controller (for campaign mode), so that part at least should've translated well to a modern controller.
