My copy of Marvel: Midnight Suns is “back ordered” even though I pre-ordered it months ago from Target. (They consistently do this, but I keep going back for the B2G1 deals). So, I picked up The Callisto Protocol for free with points I had saved up from GameStop on the way to work. I’m gonna give it a shot later tonight.

I’m on the second chapter of The Callisto Protocol. Early thoughts:

-The graphics are fantastic. It really looks next-gen.
-The gore took me by surprise.
-The story hooked me right away. It’s not terribly original, but it builds the tension well.
-So far, it doesn’t seem like I can run, which is annoying. Movement feels a bit stiff walking.
-The combat is OK, but I wish there was a dodge/roll button. The hold left or right to dodge thing isn’t very intuitive yet.
-I was still downloading the update, but, unpatched, this crashed on me twice.

Don’t think I’ve posted before about this issue. So 4 days ago my PS5 started dropping the internet. I don’t mean for a few seconds, I mean I would have to reset my router and MAYBE that would fix it but literally I have no clue how it decides to reestablish connection. It’s not the router nor the internet as I have 2 phones, a computer, and two switches that have had no issues. It’s also not distance as the router is near the PS5 (like my switches) and my computer upstairs connects fine. The only change I made around 4 days ago is I got a pulse PS5 headset and had been using that wirelessly. Just to check I unplugged the adapter from the USB and played with the headset wired but it’s still an issue

From a troubleshooting perspective I’ve
- reset router
- reset PS5
- Booted in safe and went back to factory settings
- tried establishing a 5 and 2.4ghz connection

I’m at a lose. I have a new router coming but I don’t really believe that is the issue. Anyone ever run into this?

Is it feasible to test a wired connection to your PS5?

Been rummaging around to see if I have a cord but that’s my next plan. I completely rebooted and reverted the system back to its out of the box settings and thought it fixed it but 10 min later it dropped and same issues started again.

Other thing to try is update firmware on the router

Mine randomly tells me I can’t play games because the license can’t be verified. While it’s online? Happens every week or so. PSN is up and everything. And it’s different games. Reset fixes it.

My PS5 will sometimes show the "no internet connection" popup but when I go check I'm always still connected. So it seems like just a blip. Probably happens 2-3 times a month, so not a big deal but I don't have this issue on the XSX which is in the same location.

So after rebooting everything it seems to be holding the connection now. It also got rid of a weird flickering video thing that was happening whenever I started up a new game (also happened a few times during a game). Hopefully it holds. I think I will keep the headset wired just to avoid any possible issues.

For the flicker when you start up a game, do you have video settings in your PS5 for HDR set to "on when supported"? Mine used to do that when I'd start up a game that didn't use HDR.

As for the flicker while you're playing a game, I've had mine do that a few times. I don't know what causes it but it hasn't done it in a few weeks.

I believe I might have. Going back to default on all settings has helped. I also got my new router yesterday and was able to play with no issues last night. Hopefully it stays that way.

Well it started acting up again. Ran a test and I was getting 1.6 mbps download speed. Switched the PS5 to the other side of the tv closer to the router (were talking less than 5 feet) and was getting 76. Decided to just hook it up wired and ran a test and getting 430 mbps. So something is up with the console. Looking into to what I can do to possibly get it repaired/replaced

Nah, currently running 3 laptops, 3 cell phones, and two switches off the router and all work perfectly fine wireless.

Maybe for one last test try running a test with a laptop in those 2 PS5 locations and see if there is any difference. If there is then it sounds like interference (hell, maybe even the TV itself).

PlayStation's 2022 wrap up. https://wrapup.plays...

As I say every year, that 107 hours is way inflated because I leave my consoles paused for extended periods of time if I'm busy. My actual save file in the game is at just under 52 hours.

It's always bothered me when games keep the clock going for time played, even when paused.
