My TV stand thing has only horizontal space. I don't love the weird little hooked piece that it sits on. The ps5 slides off it if I touch it. This doesn't seem to matter much either.

I wonder if that's what happened to mine that went kaput 6 months ago...
Due to lack of space and proper air circulation, I've always kept my 5 vertical...even my new one. Ugh

I normally always go horizontal but with the PS5 it's so damn big it only fits beside my tv vertical. It doesn't fit in any of the shelves or cubbies.

I bought my PS5 shortly after a big earthquake hit us. Horizontal 100% of the time.

If the liquid dripping / running is the issue it’s best to make sure it sets pretty straight horizontally too. Mine does not 95% of the time for the reason @bill mentioned. That little plastic turntable thing always slips and it’s slanted a bit.

@bill @Feeb I ended up buying a way too expensive plastic stand to make it more stable: https://www.amazon.c...

I’ve always had my systems vertical since PS2 let me. Saves so much space in my setup. I’ve never had issues, and I’m not letting a tweet by a store in France trying to get hits deter me from going back to the horizontal days

That looks solid. I’ll definitely consider something like it.

Are many of you doing PS Plus Extra?
I signed up for it around Black Friday ($75/year on sale). I'm going to try to mostly play games in the catalog this year (and beyond?) and see how that goes. Many of the games in the catalog are games I bought and liked, so it seems sad to have paid what I did. There are a bunch I'm interested in trying too, and a few that were on my wishlist (Stray, Returnal, Spiderman Miles...). So, it's a decent deal for me even if the catalog doesn't grow to my liking.
I'm otherwise pretty good at waiting to play stuff (mostly to avoid paying $60+). I really don't mind not exactly owning games as I rarely go back to play something I beat.

I got Premium right away, Extra seems like better value objectively but my FOMO too hard to go down to it

I got premium because my stacked PS+ turned into it with the one month Now hack thing.
I would say that extra would have sufficed, i don't really use the retro system stuff or any game streaming. I just like the monthly games and the discounts.

I would do extra but I've played or bought nearly everything of interest. $60 for a year isn't too bad of an offer, but I don't play online and play most of my indies on PC. It seems like most of the stuff on there is a "yeah, that might be worth checking out eventually" game rather than a recent must-play

Id say Extra is the best value one if you can get it on a sale. Playing PSX games isnt for me and I dont see any value on playing the PS3 games streaming without any performance upgrades.
I think there is a sale right now. I also got the one on Black Friday but I dont remember what I paid for the year.
On a different topic, I just finished The Pedestrian via PS+ whichever included it. Fun little puzzle game that didnt overstay its welcome.

I just put Pedestrian on my wishlist, looks interesting. Why not, it's "free".
That's what I did when I got Extra. I went through the catalog and put games on my wishlist that I wanted to check out. There were too many to download all at once. I'm planning to go through them slowly when I'm looking to try a new game. It's like a virtual backlog.
I was already doing normal Plus for the past few years. I had done the math on it, and it came out that I'd save more money from the discounts on what I was buying. I tend to buy a lot of odd games that go on sale. Some have been good, but many I just can't get into. That's part of how I got to this point, wanting to instead play random games in the extra catalog, cheaper than buying them directly.
I'm unsure about the must-plays. I may still buy some if I just can't wait. I am pretty good at waiting, though. I've already been doing it, waiting for sales and such. For example: Ratchet & Clank: A Rift Apart, Horizon: Forbidden West, or Elden Ring - haven't played them yet, but if any of those drop into the catalog, I'll feel like I made the right call. If they drop to $20, I may buy. ...then kick myself when they get added to the catalog later. Or die, never having played them because I waited too long.

Yeah I agree as long as we hold off on day-1 buying $60-70 games then Extra/Premium may be worth it. Returnal is one game I was looking to buy for $25-30 so I got some value playing it over PS Extra. I can think of a couple more like Onechanbara Origins and Judgement.
Ive also sort of reduced the amount of cheap games Im buying lately because they are or eventually will be in the service.

I upgraded to the PS+ Premium tier last night, so I'll have it until late July. My backlog must feel so disrespected right now.
My friend upgraded too and we started playing a game called KeyWe. I recommend it if you like co-op games like Overcooked.

I'm finding myself wanting to play exclusively off PS5 anymore because I can play in the basement to escape the family and have a nice big TV ... but I can also play upstairs, from my gaming laptop. Best of both worlds. Yet, I'd like to figure out if remote play can/should be operating better.
My PS5 and my PC are both connected over ethernet. I have a pretty nice setup using Ubiquiti Unifi gear and generally speaking, everything runs great in my house.
Remote play works well enough, but it feels like it 'should' be better running over ethernet. I get a little bit of choppiness/slow downs, and slightly pixelated resolution.
Is there any optimizations/tweaking to be done?
THanks
