Might as well get it started. Who's looking forward to it? I personally think that it could beat PS5, that is if they don't screw up. They need a basic UI, more first party titles, and focus only on gaming. They own the license to Rare games, we need to see new Conkers, Perfect Dark, Banjo Kazooie, etc. They did alright with Killer Instinct, I'll give them that, but they're sitting on a lot of games that needs remade, remastered, and sequels.
As far as I know, it's slightly more powerful than the PS5, which isn't a big deal. But what is a big deal is that it will come with more storage. XBSX will have 1TB, which I admit, is not much by today's standards. The PS5 will have 825GB, which is ridiculous. I'm guessing that the next gen games will be around 100gb or more in size on average. If that is the case, I expect the discs will be on 4k UHD blu-rays.

Yeah, I really liked Trover. I hear that in High on Life there is a setting to lower the amount of talking the guns do. Default is constantly, but you can decrease that if it's too grating.

I hadn't heard of High On Life before, but if it's similar to Trover then I'll give it a try. I played Trover on PSVR, it was hilarious.

high on live is a crazy comedy shooter where your guns talk to you.

There was a Day One patch last night, so i didn't play it.
The first ACTUAL boss battle is VERY FRUSTRATING, but at the same time, very old school. High on Life is definitely a game made by gamers for gamers. It reminds me of a Bioshock Infinite boss battle where you have to constantly keep moving.
Also once you get the talking knife the game gets THAT much better. I haven't even gotten the 2nd gun yet.
If you're an achievement hunter, there's a great one early on and i dont want to spoil it and the NAME of the Achievement makes fun of a very popular video game franchise.
Yes, the combat is very...meh, but its fun and funny and looks great. I actual combat itself reminds me of Borderlands, theres generally 3 or 4 different enemy types in each semi open world, with different skins and voices; tiny ones, flying ones, medium sized grunts and big fudgeers.
If you cannot stand the voice of Justin Roiland, i would recommend not playing this or turning voices off. Your main gun sounds like Morty and just makes fun of you the entire time and makes very gross sexual innuendos.

Atomic Heart is confirmed for GP when it drops in mid-Feb, nice. I have been pretty interested in the title but wasn't thinking I would be purchasing it close to launch.
DUDE!
I'm so excited.
That's another game i don't have to buy. When everyone was crap talking no AAA releases on Gamepass, these are the games i was talking about!
I just HOPE its not TOO open world. I just want a mostly linear single player campaign. A solid 20 hours would be fine.
Looks like equal parts Bioshock and Singularity with surrealism and Fallout style Soviet retro futurism.
Super effing stoked.

I loved that Aliens game but hit a difficulty spike that I just couldn't get past. I know they want you to grind the first few levels over and over to improve your gear but even doing that a little I couldn't get past a certain end-level portion by myself. I think there are like 4 levels, split up into a few chapters? I believe it was the last portion of the 3rd level.

it took me DAYS to get past that final Alien attack where they come from ALL ANGLES
glad i'm not alone.
thats what made Left 4 Dead 1 and 2 so fun, even a rookie with bots could finish a level. It'd be rough, but you could get through it.

Agree about Aliens Fireteam. It wasn't bad, but trying to play with randos wasn't ideal - game was likely better with good communication and I'm not too interested in playing with a headset on.
I'm excited about Atomic Heart too and really hope it is at least a 7+ (out of 10) average score - meaning not sort of overhyped but mediocre. I don't need it to be a 9+ necessarily, I just want it to be good.

Someone will always crap talk GP and PS+. They both have award winning games but if it’s not anything they like it “sucks”

Had anyone played Chained Echoes? I'm about 2 hours in and liking it. So far mostly exposition but the few combats I've had were fun.

For Xbox One, what the hell kind of disk do you need? I got a kickass ssd for my nephews and while the Xbox detects it, won't let me use it for moves or installs.
Does it have to be a HDD? I read SSDs are supported.

Does anybody know anything about sharing Game Pass Ultimate with friends and family? I'm trying to set this up in my house with my two sons, but they need to be logged in as me to download the games or use Live, so I can't play on my Xbox at the same time.

I had the same issue (I have an XSX and my son has an XSS) and you need to set your son's Xbox as the "home console". Login to his xbox and set it as "home" somewhere in the settings. You can only switch this like 3-5 times a year. Setting it as home links your account (and GPU) to the system and will be the default place things install remotely if you do that from the website/app.
So although your account is on his Xbox, since it's the home console he doesn't need to login as you any more and can do everything as his user and account.
Then on your xbox, simply logging in as your user will allow you to do everything.
If you have 3 Xboxes the above still applies except that on the 2 non-home systems you'll have to login as you to access your GPU.

My kids bought me a Series X for Christmas. I don't follow game news so I'm looking for some good indie/arcade etc games to check out.

Absolutely get Game Pass as your first thing. You will find a ton to try out over the first few months.
