Discussion for all things Analogue.
Duo coming out soon, fingers crossed.
But for starters, let's take a look at Pocket.
NES and SNES unlocked.
As far as I can tell, there's no other comparison for FPGA on a portable screen.
It. Is. Good.

My tracking is still not updated. It'll take a Christmas Miracle to get here before the week is up.

Mine just got delivered. Let's see if the mail room at work delivers it today or tomorrow.
Not really super antsy about it arriving anymore. If it doesn't have DAC support, it's not going to see much use out of me in the near future.

My Tink 4K arrived today. No movement on the Analogue Duo tracking.

Got it yesterday. Had a pretty awful out-of-box experience, but it's my own fault.
I wanted to see if I could transfer my Rondo of Blood save from my MiSTer to the Duo, so I burned a copy of the game and did a first run start-up to check out what file was generated. I used the controller from the TurboGrafx-16 Mini, but none of the buttons worked except the Run+Select soft reset.
Switched to a real PC Engine controller, and had the same problem.
Tried to switch to the 8bitdo PC30, but it wouldn't pair with the Duo. Did some reading and learned you need to either use the receiver or flash some custom firmware, but I couldn't find the receiver, and my PC wouldn't recognize the controller when it was in firmware update mode, so I was out of luck.
Turns out you can't skip the Rondo intro on first load. Every controller worked fine after I let the intro run its course and, yes, the save from the MiSTer transferred over no problem. The experience was the same with the Turbo EverDrive Pro after I took the acrylic cover off, though the audio is a bit quieter. I probably need to turn up the CD audio setting.
As I've snobbishly complained earlier in this thread, there's no DAC support, so I was playing on my real CRT with fake CRT effects enabled. I was too lazy and rushed last night to try it with the RetroTink-4K or try downscaling.

I'm surprised it made you watch the intro considering you had imported a save, pretty sure it shoulda recognized that you'd already played it. Unless you waited for first boot to move the save over

Yes, you need an SD card for firmware updates, saves, save states (coming 'soon') and screenshots, among other things.
and my creamy white goodness is arriving tomorrow.

Looks like only Turbo Everdrive Pro works with the Duo.
TED 2.5 is getting an error.

Also some of my Japanese Hucards did not load.
Not exactly a smooth rollout I'd say.
Rondo worked and looks good. I also tried a couple of other Hus, worked fine.

Once they do another preorder maybe they can afford some patches. Clearly testing wasn't on the docket, they had a deadline to nail!

Tested the Duo Jailbreak, I didn't run into issues but apparently there's alot of graphical bugs. But overall, it's great. You can now load up any game(both PCE/TG16 and PCE CD) from the SD card.
One thing I forgot to try was Arcade card games.

My adapters came yesterday. Didn't get much of a chance to explore, but I did try out each of the flash carts.
TurboGrafx adapter has the same display modes as the Analogue Duo. My Turbo EverDrive Pro wouldn't load, though, even though it works in the Duo, so I wasn't able to try any games.
I tried out the Lynx adapter with my GameDrive, which had a bit of a pain-in-the-ass firmware download process. Once it was up and running, it worked great. I really like the original screen mode, which reminds me of the Game Gear filter. I played a few seconds of Rampage and Ms. Pac-Man.
Finally, I tried the NGPC adapter with the NeoPocket GameDrive. Like the NeoSD loader for the AES/MVS, you have to slooooooooooowly load games into RAM before you can play them, and the GameDrive's UX leaves a bit more to be desired. Once you're in a game, though, it plays great. It has screen modes to force different color settings, and everything seems a bit more crisp overall than a lot of the other color handheld cores.
