Might as well get it started. Who's looking forward to it? I personally think that it could beat PS5, that is if they don't screw up. They need a basic UI, more first party titles, and focus only on gaming. They own the license to Rare games, we need to see new Conkers, Perfect Dark, Banjo Kazooie, etc. They did alright with Killer Instinct, I'll give them that, but they're sitting on a lot of games that needs remade, remastered, and sequels.
As far as I know, it's slightly more powerful than the PS5, which isn't a big deal. But what is a big deal is that it will come with more storage. XBSX will have 1TB, which I admit, is not much by today's standards. The PS5 will have 825GB, which is ridiculous. I'm guessing that the next gen games will be around 100gb or more in size on average. If that is the case, I expect the discs will be on 4k UHD blu-rays.

@Anxiouz I got the complete Batman AK edition a few years back and can attest to most of the DLC being pretty good - playing as Bats friends was enjoyable. I actually uninstalled it before doing the 1 Batgirl one I think and have been meaning to reinstall to play that one. Easily worth $4, especially if you like the challenge maps or other side things like that. Nightwing, Harley and Robin's DLCs were enjoyable.

Yeah, purchased individually I think the DLC was like $40 or something which is crazy. But a couple more hours of gameplay for $4 is tough to beat, even if the individual pieces are short.

Halo Infinite MP is most good. Digging it so far. Feels like I'm 21 all over again back in H3. Still haven't found the grappling hook though. Kinda need it to feel like the Batman.

So I was kind of obsessing over trying to find a Halo Infinite Series X. I tried for months with no luck. Sony just happened to send me an invite to buy a PS5 from their store so I jumped on that because why not. The PS5 arrived today and I decide I would list it on OfferUp to see if someone would be interested in making a trade. I wasn't very hopeful as the prices on the Halo XSX were going for $900+ in my area. To my pleasant surprise I received an offer to make a straight up trade. What was even more surprising was the guy was willing to drive 2 hours each way to come and make the trade so I didn't have to leave my family. We made the trade and I'm now the proud owner of a Halo Infinite Series X!

Performance is similar to series S, correct? I had a series S for about 3 months and switched back to my 1x- honestly it feels just as good if not better. I'm not seeing huge load time disparities and the disc drive is a huge plus for me. I'm just bummed they'll be skipping it with upcoming releases- otherwise upgrade was too soon for me. I had a series X and gave it a family member for same reason- it's a beast but I wasn't getting enough out of it. I'll be looking for another this summer I hope.

ray tracing, more foliage, and 4K. Not a huge difference. But those things count in my book. So I wait. I've got tons of switch games on the backlog any way. But I might just load up Halo Infinite at some point if I get too impatient.

One X is actually better IMO. Better graphics card, actual 4K and higher resolution in pretty much every game.

The Series S doesn't really do anything better except load faster.

So the Razer Nari Ultimate for Xbox will work with a Windows adapter for PC. Anyone know if you get full control via Synapse? Be nice to reduce to one headset vs two.

This is what I'm seeing personally. RE village loaded faster but looked a little "granier" imho. I used it as a test because it's been the title that PS4 pro to ps5 was really noticeable for me.

It really depend on what you're going for. Devs are just getting used to the new tools Microsoft created for the Series S|X. The load times are noticeably faster on the Series line vs the One line.

If you have a display that can do 120fps and want to take advantage of that, you'll want a Series S or X. If you want the best looking graphics, you can get by with a One X, but a Series X will be more future proof.

IMO FPS takes priority over Graphics in fast movement games like a shooter or racing, but Graphics takes priority over FPS in most other genres. If you're getting 60fps 4k, you're probably going to be happy with most games. The Series S is a great little console, but I wouldn't expect too much if you're hooking it up to a 4k TV. 1080p is the sweet spot for that guy.

The XSS is a fine system, but it's a Game Pass machine, pure and simple. If you have the $$ to only buy digital games, then you'll find a way to get an XSX with that money. And if you have a killer tv, you should know the XSS isn't the system to show it off.

My son doesn't really care if he's using an XSS or an X1X, although he does complain about how slow the X1X is to load some games. I eventually got rid of the XSS since I was buying older physical games for him. But for the past couple months he's only playing GP stuff with his friends so I'll prob get him back into an XSS.

Can you list a game that does 120fps on a series S but not on a One X?

Microsoft tried to push this narrative, but I haven't seen it perform above 60FPS in any game ever besides maybe Ori or another very simple 2D game. MCC does 60 FPS and that's not a hard game to run.

I think we all agree the Series X is the way to go, but I can't think of a single thing the Series S does better than the One X besides slightly faster load times. it runs the crappy One S versions of games whereas the One X runs the actual 4K versions. It just has a better GPU, period.

For me the Series S was cool because it's so tiny that it works really well as a travel machine. I can hook it up in my hotel in about 20 seconds and it powers on fast and I am ready to play or stream video. Hotel TVs usually suck anyways so I wasn't ever expecting 4K or 120hz. Just play some CoD Cold War Zombies or stream some netflix etc.

But for home usage I can't really see the upside honestly, even games like RDR1 look a lot better on the One X than Series S.

I was mostly jazzing on the Series S when pitted up against the Series X this week, but then I played Avengers and with them both set to performance, the Series S looked kinda gross.

For most of the Game Pass library it literally doesn't matter, even stuff like Mass Effect Trilogy runs at 1440p60. ...Course it runs at 1440p120hz on the Series X! I'm sure stuff like Halo Multiplayer, that sort of thing, you won't even notice. If you don't mind 1080p60 or 1440+30fps you probably won't really notice much at all period, but if you want frames AND resolution, you've gotta run Series X

Could be worse I guess. I'd definitely take a SS over SX tho, optical or not. It's juicier. Faster. You know what you can't buy back? Time.

Quite a few actually, although I can't imagine how low-res things are going to look on the XSS at 120fps. I'd argue that it's going to be rather rough looking.

Agreed, and I'm not sold on 120fps yet. It's more of a novelty to me since it always removes ray-tracing and visual fidelity. On XSX there's a noticeable downgrade when playing in 120fps except for things like Super Lucky Tales, the Falconeer, and Ori where the cartoony art style and camera position help their cause.

microsoft has some xsx in stock. I got an email. You have to buy one digital game and one controller. Mine was $600 after tax. So I don't mind. I got a sharp lemon lime flourescent looking controller, and MK11U for only $17.99. I have the pysical but it will be nice not to switch it out every time I want to load up the game.

So excited I finally got an XSX! Wohoo! I went a little crazy and bought Riders Republic, GotG, and Mass Effect on sale for BF. As sort of an excitement celebration spend$$$.

Started up Max Payne 3 via BC and it's as fantastic as I remembered. It certainly looks and plays like an X360/PS3 era game but at times it looks amazing. And it's a ton of fun!
