Note: Best Buy and Target - limit one per account/household (tried on seperate accounts, no dice).
Super stoked, I managed to snag two! Guess I will finally upgrade my Switch (only to have it replaced by a Pro or whatever is next ... by end of year).
It's really odd that they've been up for ... quite awhile. I wonder if they're mass producing? Thankfully BB/Target are slowing down the scalping by imposing restrictions.

GameStop supposedly in store only (RE4 anyone?) ... but each store is only getting ~5

Wow, still available. Did Nintendo have a rough fiscal year or something? This is really surprising that stock is plentiful! They're clearly going to milk the hell out of this one.

It's hard to justify dropping 350+ dollars on a system you already own, even for a special edition. And just about everyone has a Switch nowadays.
Switch is also 6 years old at this point and there are a lot of people expecting its successor to be announced this year.
So I think while a lot of folks want one they might be afraid of getting burned

This is crazy. They had to have made a ton of these. Special edition Nintendo consoles just don't last like this, especially Zelda.

Totally agreed; however, when it comes to anything Zelda, logic usually goes out the window. Yet, not this time. Hopefully goes to show that the consumers are telling Nintendo it's time for a true upgrade.

I don't think there's ever been stock issues for most special edition Switch systems. Also many of the past Zelda themed systems that were specific for a game had the game bundled with it.
They're still going to sell a lot of these, but I won't be surprised if we see these available into Christmas season.

Sure, but it's possible to sell one's current Switch, or keep it as a backup (I'll be doing the former). I've inadvertently gotten Zelda special edition systems since the 3DS XL, so I'm continuing the tradition. Plus, there are a lot, like a lot of people out there from what I've read that still have the original model Switch, often a launch Switch, that would like to upgrade to the OLED regardless of a new system coming (which of course will happen, but there's nothing indicating any announcement right now). So this is a good buy for them.

The kickstand upgrade and the larger screen are appreciated too.

@DCGX
What do you mean you've inadvertently gotten Zelda editions? How does that happen?

When I was ready to get a new system, there happened to be a Zelda version coinciding with my decision. I wanted to upgrade my 3DS to an XL, and the Link Between Worlds edition was releasing around that time. Same thing with the WiiU. I never really played Zelda games before that, just Windwaker on GC and Twilight Princess on Wii, so I wouldn't count myself as a fan that went out of my way for Zelda themed systems.
I do now though.

IMO, the Zelda 2DS XL is the best Zelda themed system Nintendo has made. I'm bummed that I don't own it and that it's now way too expensive to justify buying

I think I considered buying one at the time, but didn't, because I was happy with my plain 3DS. That Zelda 2DS is very nice though.

I really like the Majoras Mask 3ds XL.
One thing I did right was to snag all of the Zelda handheld consoles and leave unopened. Only missing the Minish Cap GBA SP... Someday... Man, just checked, Holy crap did they sky rocket! Someday will be never =(

That SP sure is sweet. And the box is really nice too. I think you're right about it being an import. I remember the box having importy words on it or something.
