The Toy Collecting + Figure Photography Thread

A thread for us forever-kids who dig this sort of thing to talk toys, figure photography, collections, etc. Show yours off, I wanna see em.
Obviously not my photos (you can find some of those in the thread), but look at these things:
image
Friggin neat. I should preface this thread by saying I tend to lean toward nostalgic properties/toys and I'm not all that "in" on the figure collecting scene. There are just certain pieces that I need and this TMNT/Power Rangers mash up is like smashing two huge aspects of my 90s kid childhood into one gorgeous project. Only one I'm not mega into is Tommy as the Foot Clan soldier (the Tommy head isn't in the photo). I dig that they brought at least one Power Ranger character into the TMNT world instead of vice versa but Tommy doesn't strike me as a Foot guy. That Shredder/Green Ranger mash up is a legit dream fig though.
But yah, share photos of your stuff or just talk about the toys (upcoming or retro) that interest you, etc etc.

Yeah it's incredible. Some truly great stuff has been shown here. Prime 1 stuff is out of my price range but I enjoy checking it out.

Welp, they finally revealed the Archie Comics TMNT figures that I'd need to snag to complete my run.
-The 4 turtles in their Archie wrestling outfits
-Bellybomb + Krang
-Mondo Gecko
Being a big wrestling fan, part of me is excited for the turtles, but I was really hoping for standard looking turtles for this line. I dig the designs enough (except Donnie, that one's boring), Mikey and Raph especially are cool, but I almost always prefer the standard looks. At this point, I may just snag the standard turtles from the animated line considering the Archie comics turtles look pretty much exactly the same (that may even be why they chose wrestlers for this line). Mondo is a Mutanimal like the other 4 that are already released, so he may be the first one I go for. But that Bellybomb figure + the Krang accessory is a must-have too. Classic 90s toy vibe.

Ill try to stay away from those but they do look pretty neat! I only try for their TMNT movies stuff and I want to say I have everything I need except Tokka & Rahzar. I did start with the Last Ronin line because they look insanely good (they revealed the other Ronin turtles at the show).

Not the best quality figure at all… in fact, it’s pretty bad. Flimsy removable hands and whatnot, real crappy stand. BUT it’s perfect for what I’m using it for: display purposes! Love Invincible and Omni-Man is probably my favorite character, plus I had a gift card leftover from my birthday, so figured “what the heck” and grabbed it.
I do love that the baseball glove hand was included. At this point, that’s an iconic scene from the comics.

@kevolones It’s Diamond Select Toys. It LOOKS good for sure, which is why I’m cool using it for display, but the quality of the hands is pretty bad. Very loose and wiggly, and the plastic itself feels a lot thinner than something like a NECA figure. The default hand it comes with just fell right off when I opened it, having never touched it before. The pegs seem suspect.
Then there’s the issue of paint scraping off a bit around the knee and ankle joints. I also feel like he’s hunched over more than he should be, like his neck is jutting out a bit too much (see the photo below). Doesn’t really reflect the broad-shouldered stature of the character himself. Just little issues that you wouldn’t see from some of the higher-caliber figure companies.
image
@nonamesleft The baseball isn’t removable but you can switch hands and whatnot. The Invincible figure comes with another baseball mitt hand and I think a baseball accessory with a flame hanging off the back to make it look like it was thrown by a superhuman haha. Honestly it’s the baseball stuff that made me want the figures in the first place. Love that scene in the comics/cartoon so I thought it was real smart to include it with the figure.
And yes, everyone should play Pikmin 4.

@nonamesleft it comes with the character named Invincible’s figure (son of Omni-man). Guess it’s less of a flame and more of just a “fast throw” effect haha

Yah that's a mystery to me too. Maybe there's a peg on the very edge of the effect that sticks into the palm of one of his open hands... but no idea. Would seem pretty silly to include that accessory if it can't be held somehow.

Just got this in the mail this week. Very nice add to my "Bastard" collection. Its bigger than I thought (what she said) so I had to put it back in the box for now. This probably needs its own detolf "shelf", Ill need to shuffle some things to make space for it. Hoping it scales with the other Bastard!! statues I own.

Nothing for me this time. There's a couple of good prices on figure I already bought full priced. Hurts to see it!
If the $4 flat shipping applied to where I live, I would spend so much money on that site it would be ridiculous. I still buy from them from time to time. Ill have to use it more now that Entertainment Earth is out of the question due to insane shipping fees to ship to me.

Appears to be a Chinese Company called Maestro Union. Not sure if they have anything to do with Joytoy. Their website is weird so I cant find much. The line is called FuRay Planet and so far all of the figures look sick (the upcoming ones too). Got a 20% off during Amazon BF and got the tiger which I was eyeing for a while and also got the werewolf because I couldnt resist the discount.

The Jada Toys Street Fighter figures are really nice quality. A lot of articulation. A little disappointed they don't come with a stand for balancing issues.
Kamek went on sale for $4.98 on Amazon, couldn't pass it.

I have a large box of old toys from the 70's, 80's and early 90's. Star Wars, He-man, GI Joe, Transformers, TMNT, etc. We had a few Mask as well, but not sure if those survived. Bad thing is we played the hell out of those toys, and a lot of it is worn, broken or missing pieces. I remember hearing the first time some of these toys were worth in the $100 range. Our Optimus Prime was missing a leg among other damage. We had fun. My kids have shown some interest, but they don't have the attention span we did. Most of them have been put back in storage.
In the winter time we'd take our Star Wars and GI Joe outside, build miniature snow forts out of (shock) snow and have hoth-like battles (minus the expensive vehicles). I can remember using the old tin bandaid boxes with a hinged lid as vehicles, coffins and carbonite... had to be creative as an 80's middle class family child. lol

We would have gi joe wars with hairspray and lighters. Wrap the figures in tape like mummies and bury them in cinder block crypts. Bad boys.

I went through a period of trying to launch them via rockets... bottle rockets that is. I remember torching the cobra team twins before thinking this won't work. This was the first step before snap, then roman candle and bottle rocket wars. Stopped that when a roman candle exploded in someones hand, luckily away from the hand. My goodness we were lucky dumb.

New figure Friday The Jada Toys Street Fighter figures are really nice quality. A lot of articulation.
Yeah, theyre pretty damn good for the price. That Megaman I posted is from Jada as well. I think they could do better on the head sculpts (specifically the alternates) but again, for $25 its all actually pretty awesome.
A little disappointed they don't come with a stand for balancing issues.
Generic cheap bases should work. I prefer these flight stands from Bandai though:
TAMASHII NATIONS Bandai Stage Act. 5 for Mechanics Stand Support (Clear), Multi (BAS56788) https://a.co/d/3q0qr...
You can also get some really cheap ones from aliexpress, but I feel these hold the weight a bit better and theyre better quality.

I could be a millionaire and would still scoff at an $800 figure. I would rather die lmao
BUT that figure looks badass as hell, cannot lie.

The head sculpt is practically perfect. My concern would be the silicone body. Ive read you shouldnt leave them (i.e. elbows bent) posed for too long. I own 1 (the custom Ryu I posted) and Im scared of posing it.

I've read the same thing. Some good info about caring for silicone bodies can be found on the One Sixth Warrior forums.

Got a mistery box with 3 random figmas in the mail yesterday. Didnt get anything I wouldve bought (except for Itadori maybe) but I feel like I didnt get anything lame. All 3 are pretty cool. Got Yuji Itadori from Jujutsu Kaizen, Levi from Attack on Titan and "Hero" from P4U.
Anyone else do the mistery box thing?

I had a lot of cool Power Rangers stuff as a kid I wish I had now. The Dragon Dagger, a few of the rangers as action figures, I’m sure some other crap I don’t remember… getting old is a drag.

If anyone here is trading Figma figures let me know. I have Levi and the Persona 4 Ultimax dude that I could get rid of.
Back to topic, I just got a pile of loot package from BBTS. Pics soon
