Raffling 5 spots to Microsoft discounts - GTZ Subscribers only - Winners drawn!

#1 MrBean
One of my Microsoft perks is massively discounted Microsoft software and hardware (25-90% off).
Every fiscal year (starting July 1st), I get 15 spots to invite others to get my discounts - only on software unfortunately. This includes $14 o365, $20 o365 family, $50 2 year XBL ($30 for 1), $10 Windows licensing, 50% + on select digital games, along with other Microsoft products as well.
Two best ones I'd recommend on the software end:
- $80 for 3 years XBL then activate the $1 Game Pass Ultimate trial. $81 for 3 years of GPU!
- Stack 5 years (max) of o365 family for $100!
Post if interested. Will keep open for a week or so then throw names into a random generator. You get a $250 allowance (on the discounted prices), including $5 off your first purchase. You can use as you see fit for yourself or others.
Only requirement I'll put on eligibility is having a GTZ subscription. Please continue to support @Bill and the site!
Next reset, will repeat and let 5 new people in. I may have more spots to give away this FY as well, but will save for a later date.

This is pretty cool of you to share here. I'll throw my name in the bowl. Not exactly sure what I'd want at the moment as I'm nearly maxed out on GPU and have no need for Office or Windows licenses.

Probably a super lame way to do this ... but only way that came to mind to do it quick and easy. Just to show ya'll it's random (top 5 highest numbers win). Going to use excel rand() and flip it a couple times - unless anyone has a better idea?

Not to put any of the winners on the spot, but you get up to $250 ... if you find yourself unable to spend the rest of the money, perhaps see if others here may benefit.
These will expire come July 1st of next year, in which (assuming I haven't lost my job from doing this!), I'll do it again.

I have now used 10 of my 15 spots (once I hear from @Scott).
I'm hanging onto the others for local friends/family; however... if it gets too far into the year, and they're available, I will revisit this topic appropriately to give them away.
As stated prior, they reset every July 1st. So I'd hate to have them sit out there with no use.

@Scott, @Kommie, @Lunar, @Justin, @ryanflucas - everything go well? Any questions?
I have two spots left but pretty sure one is gonna go to another cousin.
Will revisit this after the new year and possibly raffle off another spot.
Come July, I'll reset with new allocations, but original winners will not be able to partake. So please ensure that you maximize your allowance before it's gone!

I've not had a chance to use it yet, but probably will with the holidays coming up soon. I'll let you know if I run into any problems
I'm willing to share it with others here, I definitely won't hit the $250 allowance.
Oh, I do have 1 question...you said it works on select digital games. Is that typically just AAA games, or would it work on random XBLA type games, like Tunic, for example?

That's awesome of you to share Scott, hope the others do as well if they don't use the full allotment! You simply buy codes, and can share with others!
Yeah once you login, you'll see the games. The list is a bit small, it's really only the MSFT studio games, but some great prices out there.

@Scott, @Kommie, @Lunar, @Justin, @ryanflucas : Friendly reminder - this expires July 1st. Use it while ya can! If you have room, feel free to share with others (be it here or friends/family).
I still have 2 spots open for this FY. One I'm holding onto for my cousin, and the other ... let's raffle it off!
Resulting incoming based on the original participants (minus the above winners).

So, I finally get around to doing it and it looks like the $1 trick to upgrade to Game Pass Ultimate was dropped a few weeks ago, eh?
Sucky. I mean, I guess you can still do it for $15, so still very worth it -- but that's what I get for being slow...

Aye, ya missed out ... but is it still working even with the $15 path? Still an insane deal as you can get 3 years of XBL for $80 with my discount. If it's only $15 to upgrade for 3 years, still crazy worth it!

Office 365 enables local install, and 5 machines per subscription. A family subscription enables 6 family members too... So 30 installs.
Traditional office is dead. Retail options will be shut off at some point.

No, you can still buy them. Walmart and other such stores have little cards that you buy as normal retail. Then you download and activate a retail license for Office.

So, the most Live Gold you can have is 36 months, right? They won't let you redeem more than that, it appears.
I currently have like 3 months of Gold left. I want to do the Ultimate trick (which will cost me $15 for a 1-month to convert it all). So I'm buying a 24-month from the store -- that will take me to 27 months.
They don't sell a 6-month Gold in the store currently. But they do have a 6-month Ultimate. So, I think I'll just buy that -- which will take me to 33 months total Ultimate after the conversion.
Also, when I'm done with this, I'm not sure there is much else that I need from the Store. Should I just buy up some 24-month Live Gold codes and resell them at cost to people here? Anyone looking for anything specific?

Yes, was going to get with you on that. I'm happy to buy what you want. If you don't have anything at all right now, then what makes the most sense is 2 years of Gold ($50) plus 1 year of Gold ($30) and then pay the regular $15 for one month of Ultimate -- and you'll end up with like 37 months of Ultimate for $95+tax.
If you already have something, then we can figure out what works best.

Just to clarify, I double-checked the math -- here are the options that make sense:
I can't think of any other options that make sense. The second one is a slightly better deal per month, but only lasts 28 months. The first one is the best if you want 3 full years.
Note that you have to add 6% tax to all of that.

Just to clarify, I double-checked the math -- here are the options that make sense:
$50 - 24-months Gold (from the Company Store) $30 - 12-months Gold (from the Company Store) $15 - 1-month Ultimate (normal/retail) ---- $95 for 36 months (you only get 36 because that is the hard limit) = ~$2.64/month |
$50 - 24-months Gold (from the Company Store) $23 - 3 month Ultimate (from the Company Store) ---- $73 for 28 months (you get 1 bonus month during signup) = ~$2.59/month |
I can't think of any other options that make sense. The second one is a slightly better deal per month, but only lasts 28 months. The first one is the best if you want 3 full years.

I already used the $1 trial trick, so what's the next best way to get Ultimate?
If bought outright, it's $90/12 Months for Ultimate, $50/24 Months for Gold.

If your ultimate is gone, buy 3 years gold then one month ultimate for $15

yep, that's what I did last year. Waited until it ran out in like Nov, then did the Turkey VPN 3 years for like $90 then did the one month $15. So total paid was $105 for 3 years of GPU

My UGP expires in July.
If I order in advance, I get a email with a code right?

My GPU expires in 2 years, so doesn't look like I can utilize the XBL loophole
I did get myself some Microsoft Office 365 as well as a spare Windows 11 Product Key for a potential new build next year.
Any of the gaming deals worthwhile?

I wasn't seeing too much in the way of game deals if you already had GPU. I mean, I didn't look real close, but it seemed like all of the game deals were on their 1st party games -- which I think are all included in GPU, right?
