Limited Run Games..er scammers.

As most people know, Limited Run Games doesn't have a good reputation. Between very slow shipping, lack of updates, milking gamers for every penny, high shipping costs, etc. The list goes on. Anyway, I have always defended them. I thought it was cool they produced games that may have never got a physical release. After my most recent interaction, I can no longer support them.
A few months ago, they mailed out 5% off coupons with certain customers orders as a "thank you for waiting so long for these games." Ok, 5% off is pretty pathetic but fine I'll take it. I placed my first order in about a year this past Friday but the coupon they sent me wouldn't work. It kept saying it was invalid. I knew that games can often sell out fast so I placed the order and emailed customer service. Any normal company would just give me the 5% off and I would move on. However, LRG came out swinging. They told me I needed to cancel my whole order and "try again" with the coupon. I explained to them that isn't possible because items have already sold out and the whole reason I contacted them is because the coupon didnt work. I explained to them I was sent a 5% off coupon for being a loyal customer and would appreciate if they could just credit me. They refused and said again, I need to cancel and reorder (not possible).
I then came back and asked if they would rather lose a customer of over 8 years who has spent $1000's of dollars over a 5% off coupon (that they mailed me mind you)? This was their response.
"Since you are unwilling to perform the only solution we can make, there is nothing further we can assist you with.
I am sorry, but that is the final word on the matter. If you do decide you would rather not purchase from us in the future, then I wish you well in your future gaming endeavors."
So long story short, LRG is a crap company who has no idea what customer service means. Why would you mail out invalid coupons and then not honor them? Any other company would just make it right and move on. LRG deserves all the crap they get as they truly are a terrible company. Just sharing my experience in hopes that others don't make my mistake and order from them again. They are giving Gamestop a good run as the most terrible gaming company in the world.

Will stop. Just wanted to say, my mention of final fantasy, only saw one intro of an electric prison until they become marvelled so to speak or some inception moves them on higher lol. The fighting scenes, just as lame as real fighting. Like the guy today that wanted to fight Reeves, not gonna happen.
Not going to interfere with random convo in another game topic for a while lol. Take care all!
Edit: Guess I meant to say, if you're thinking about the last day, even if it's liberation, you're missing out on today...some of my points are lost, but there is some wisdom in my high cased semantics...sometimes. Ok, I can live with that lol

Regarding Limited Run Games, there's something I don't understand. It sounds to me like the biggest issue is the long wait time for purchases. But isn't that a given thing for things like pre-orders, especially those that are fan funded?
Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't either want to wait ages for a game I purchase, but maybe that's a prerequisite when ordering from LRG.

My most recent order from them was the SG-1000 Works book they had advertised as in stock.
Jeremy Parish also posted a video from their warehouse to show off the book. So they definitely had them.

It took a month and two follow up emails from me for LRG to ship an in-stock item.

Plus two followup emails. One after two weeks, and another a week after that.
The third followup email, had it been needed, would have come from my credit card company's dispute resolution department.

They are living dangerously by being located in NC with their poor customer service.
Hopefully they get their act together and don't become the next BuyRite.

Hey, yeah. Had a dif phase, where I think too much from everything laying dormant that still wasn't making too much sense in my head, came out in my outdoor settings. Much more chill, and smoking dispensary weed again, not the native dispensary weed. Not that much dif, but the first is kinda more chill. Feel fresher smoking it.
Sorry for all the bs, seems I stepped in without thinking of the crowd and did my own thing. Been doing too much of that recently. Anyways, didn't mean anything about the games, I kinda still enjoy them without playing on a side hobby of buying when I see a good deal. As to its correlation to this world, I think we all are what the make up of life here is. That being said, some people panel in differently. We've all done similar things, maybe I just go for runs, or seems like binges. With my drinking, then gaming even, to partying, to staying in, to getting high. Gotta find a more enjoyable pace that works with how I'm feeling, not quite breathing, but something similar. Anyways, feel better, that's all that makes anything worthwhile. Time to ascend to the highest pinnacle, and then wait for liftoff HaHa. Take care gametzers

In the latest Limited Run news, the D Collector's Editions that just shipped out are burned CDs instead of pressed ones. Many consoles are having difficulty reading them.
I haven't tried my copy yet, but I'm not expecting great results. My 3DO doesn't have a great history with burned discs.
Just got an email saying they're committed to getting replacement copies pressed, they're giving out voluntary refunds, and they won't release any other 3DO games until they get the manufacturing issues resolved.

That’s funny because I got mine last week (D) and noticed that the discs looked like burned copies on the data side. Top art looks professional though. My copy works, no issues, but having that blue-ish underside caught my attention of looking kinda cheap. I wonder if they’ll send replacements or if I should contact them.
EDIT: For reference…

They definitely only acknowledged the mistake because people called them out on social media. I think they had hoped no one would actually open and play the game to find out they used burnt discs. Also they never actually apologized. It's like that shiren pc game fiasco. LRG is such a terrible company.

It's such a weird thing to me. You can get the Japanese release they based it off of for less money. I went to look last night. I could buy it for $46 right now. Helps that the yen is down. But still, better in every way.
There is a comparison eventually in this video: https://www.youtube....

JP's books used to be on Fangamer I think? Shipping from those guys was a delight, within 24 hours had tracking, came packed in a bubble wrap WITH CARDBOARD OUTSIDE, had it in less than a week. Soon as he took the LRG check, his first two books available on LRG that were immediately listed and sold as "in hand", I was like, oh this should actually be quick.
First, they charged $28 for media mail, bubble wrap without any cardboard. Second, it took them a month and a half to actually send tracking, and third, they lost half my order and couldn't confirm if they'd shipped it or not. They were gracious enough to let me use my "one-time order cancellation" to get a refund. I love JP but I'm not supporting his books anymore. LRG is literally the worst outfit in the industry, and it infuriates me that they are rewarded with every drooling "PHYSICAL ONLY, I'LL NEVER PAY $5 FOR A DOWNLOAD" mongoloid handing them $60-210 (plus extra for boxed shipping!) every release they have. LRG makes me like physical media less. I BET YOU DON'T EVEN PLAY THE FUDGING GAMES.
Hats off to the people who have been in the loop and got out, but for those still in it because they feel like they have to give them money forever since they're this deep in, I'm not looking forward to the regret posts when these guys figure out their only prospective, interested market to offload this trash is ...everyone else looking to offload their LRG piles of shame.

We all spend money on things that will hold little value in the near future. IMO life is about relationships and experiences. A memento of an experience may be infinitely valuable to a person (nostalgia). Trying to offload or sell it to someone who does not value an item for these reasons is foolish. I think that is the biggest point people miss about nostalgia and throwback items. To a select few they are respectably priceless.

I'd be thrilled if they just wanted to keep it in the family, but very frequently what I actually see is people desperately attempting to offload complete or near complete sets once they're free of the Matrix, and when everyone who'd even be remotely interested says "Nah, I've already got everything!" they end up trading them into the mom and pop chop shop instead. Our local store gets wads of them, we have a case that's frequently full of gigantic sets of LRG, other LRG ripoffs and Criterion sets. It feels like a lot of people feeling like they're locked into this are trying to curate some sort of library, until they realize it's just overpriced plastic, and then they panic. Hopefully before a financial crisis hits their family and they're sitting on ten grand worth of big boxes full of cardstock and pins.
No hard kink shaming for people who're just enjoying collecting a thing they like (light mockery is permissible), it's just really sad watching LRG behave the way it does and get financially rewarded for it because their consumer base enjoy paying premiums to be crap on. The JP book situation has been so fudging depressing. I'm glad he's getting that check, but man, buying experience slid down into the depths of Hell. Selling CD-Rs in premium shelf products, not really a "mask off" moment for me, that's on brand. Switching to dime bin USB sticks is honestly just icing on the turd
