Got my first Uber uniques - Shako and Starless. Going for Tyriel next.
This season has really improved the game quite a bit. More to go for sure, but has come a long way since original.

4 toons at 100, one with near perfect gear, pushing pit 125.
Jesus this game sucked me back in. Might be time to uninstall to force myself away from it.
Will shelf come elden ring and retire it till xpac.
Blizzard is definitely making great progress with this game, can't wait to see how they continue to tweak it.

In season 4? It's super easy. Between nmd's and hell tides, isn't too much effort. Hitting 100 can be done in a night if you're effecient - having buddies or dropping gold on some carries is the way to go.

If ya don't have a big back log, do it for the campaign at the least and may be wait to do end game with xpac.

This has been my experience. The Diablo III campaign was a real slog when the game first game out, but playing through Reaper of Souls - even after starting a new character - was a blast.
There are usually some game-wide mechanics and changes that touch the whole game, even before you hit the expansion areas.

I didn't play D3 until after Reaper of Souls dropped, so at first I didn't understand why everyone seemed to hate the game. I picked it up again during the PS4 generation with the Necromancer, and it felt even better to play.

The only thing I’d say watch out for is the seasonal stuff. If you make a toon there it’s stuck in the season- but once it ends it gets transferred to the “normal” world. If you don’t make a seasonal toon you can’t partake in the seasonal stuff. Otherwise knock yourself out finishing just the campaign. There are lots of classes and tons of replayability here. It shouldn’t ruin your enjoyment of the dlc and may enhance it. The classes are tons of fun.
