Currently has a May 12 2023 release date. That's just over 4 months away. That's not so far, but there isn't that much known about it.

Here's a video that has the reveal trailer and other info that has so far been released.

https://youtu.be/30D...

Is it unusual for such an anticipated title that's only several months away to not have much known about it?

I don't usually follow games along their pre-release stages, so perhaps a lack of info is standard.

Personally, I'd rather a lack of info when it comes to games that I plan on playing. I don't care for spoilers, or to watch every trailer that comes out.

I'd have thought there'd be more out about it though. But again, I don't usually follow along with the progress of game development.

Definitely a game I'm looking forward to though.

I've found myself using my shield more than ever in this game. It helps that I usually having something fun fused to it. I know this isn't combat related, but anytime I find a rocket or bomb barrel lying around that I don't need, I'll fuse them to a shield for an easy height boost. I've also been shield surfing way more than I did in BotW. But for combat, I think it might be because the enemies are so much stronger than before, but I have really focused on blocking, parrying, and flurry rushes way more than I did before.

theJaw, I fought one of those guys in The Depths. It came out of the gloom arms (whatever it's called) that attack you. I don't know if it's the same type of boss that you're referring to. I found him to be very easy, although the gloom arms give me a really hard time. I don't know if there is a trick to them, but they kick my ass every time. I usually run away.

@bonham2 yah that sounds the same as the one I fought, had to take out the gloom arms first and tbh, those were what gave me more trouble than the actual mini-boss. The trick I use on gloom arms is fusing bombs or lightning materials to arrows and just rapid firing at them, can usually take them all out with 4-5 hits to the center. (But yah I also usually just run away lol)

The toughest fight for me so far was Phantom Ganon in Hyrule Castle. He multiplies in that fight and spreads the gloom all across the arena. I don't remember how many hearts I had but had to use every healing item in my inventory. Beat a King Gleeok yesterday, which wasn't even that difficult. Just bring a lot of arrows and keese eyeballs for the Gleeok fights, and a Savage Lynel Bow, and they are pretty easy. As long as you have enough health to not get one-shot, anyway.

I haven't even attempted a Gleeok yet. I saw two and ran away. I'm probably ready now though. Maybe I'll try tonight.

Yah I’m still not effing with them yet… if I ever do. I played like 200 hours of BOTW without ever beating a lynel because I’d just avoid them, so I’m in no rush to face off with the tougher non-bosses lol

Yesterday, I was running across a large, open field, trying to reach one of the towers up in the Hebra region, when suddenly I looked over and saw a Gleeok heading right for me. Freaked me out. I was not prepared to fight it so I hid behind something until it circled back, then made a run for it.

Gleeok is the 3 headed dragon boss dude from past. These things are regular world mobs?

They're overworld mini-bosses, like Lynels.

Again, just bring plenty of arrows and the homing eyeballs for the Gleeoks. You might be surprised by how easy they can be. They do hit hard so probably best to have at least 15 hearts before fighting one. I suggested a Lynel bow because they can fire multiple arrows (and hit multiple heads at once - hit all three heads to stun it), but they aren't really necessary. The hardest part is the last phase when they go up high in the sky. You have to figure out how to reach them, which is also pretty fun.

One I haven't beaten yet is the Ice Gleeok, though I only fought one. That one will constantly freeze you, as you probably could have guessed.

It was pretty easy, but that was my favorite temple of the game. I loved the build up with the ships and the boss was real fun.

Reaching the Wind Temple was just as fun as clearing the actual Wind Temple.

Agreed. They don't have to be hard to be fun or memorable. The build up to the Wind Temple was great.

I decided to finally go after some Gleeoks last night. I was looking for the Awakening set, so I had to take on a Thunder Gleeok and a Fire Gleeok. They were both much easier than I expected. I am pretty strong at this point, and some of the abilities can make combat pretty easy. Like I said before, I always have rocket shields ready to go, so they made the later stages of the fight very easy. The arrow bullet time is really overpowered. If you wanted to cheese the game, you could just use that over and over, stun enemies, and then hack away. I do prefer to actually fight the enemies though.

I still have only beat two temples. I really don't want to move on. I usually find in games that once I'm ready for the endgame, I find it difficult to keep exploring. There's so much that I still want to do. I still probably only have about 1/3 of the Depths uncovered. I still have tons of shrines to find. I'm probably only around 100 Koroks at this point, and I still have a ton of armor sets to find. I don't want to move on.

I also have still never gone to Hyrule Castle. I figured that's where the final boss is, so I'm staying away, but now I see people online going in there early on in the game.

I found the Water Temple to be easier imo. Those are the only two Temples I've completed as of yet.

Just like BotW, I'm really taking my time with it. I did quite a bit of exploration before even doing my first temple, and I'm going to break up the rest of the temples with even more exploration. In BotW, I didn't fight Ganon until I had finished all of the divine beasts and shrines, so I'll probably do the same thing this time around. I did continue playing after that, but just to finish maxing out my armor sets, and to find enough Koroks to max out my inventory slots.

I also have still never gone to Hyrule Castle. I figured that's where the final boss is, so I'm staying away, but now I see people online going in there early on in the game.
I haven't either. In BotW, I made a couple visits throughout the game to grab a couple specific things, but for the most part, I waited until the very end of the game to explore it. The main thing I wanted to grab was one of those really powerful Royal weapons to use on Lynels.

I'd highly recommend visiting the castle. Just don't go into the depths. Stay on the elevated portions of the castle. There's lots of great equipment hidden in chests that can be quite useful. smile

My girlfriend filled me in that there is a mini-boss in the area, but I haven't found them yet.

Though I made it to the fire temple, I never went further, just felt got there to soon and was weak. Made it to the Wind Temple last night was an epic fight just kind quick. Are the other 3 Temple Bosses this way? I started the other 2 too but not all the way to the temples.

After beating the Wind Temple, I went back to Robbie and he finally went on his way, when we met back up I got every upgrade he offered, guess I did this much later than I should have.

I did think I found the light dragon and flew up right away but it was a different dragon raspberry

I need to go back to Robbie and get those other quests, he should give them to me as I did one Dungeon.

There's a shrine called Jiukoum Shrine - Built for Rails.

I was stuck at it for awhile. Finally beat it, but the way I went about it didn't seem to me like it was intuitive. I'm curious how others went about it.

Here's some pictures and an explanation:

You have to make something that can ride across the rails without falling off. But this gets tricky when you get to the part where the rails lead to a different rail in midair. What's solid in the beginning first rail, doesn't necessarily work for the second set of rails, and can flip over in midair once it starts gliding along the second rail. I tried making something that would glide along the first rail and then fit snugly onto the second rail, but that flipped over and fell down.

I then tried walking the rail, which was definitely not what the devs intented. That didn't work.

Finally, I made a contraption that as it got onto the second rail it slid back and was held in place by the previous set of rails, pic #4. In midair, I unstuck the bottom squares and placed them in areas that would be snug against the second new rail. That worked. Was there a simpler way? This took a lot of attempts.

Idk what it is but I just can’t get into TotK and I absolutely loved BotW. Exploring isn’t as exciting now after elden ring and I’m just not that into it. It’s a great game but just can’t get into it. I’m happy playing Diablo and then ff16 is around the corner.

I’ve been anticipating this game for years and sort of bummed that I’m not enjoying it. Everything just feels like a chore

I made a similar contraption. My bottom rails were wide enough to connect to the outside of each of the beginning rails and then were still close enough so that I wouldn't fall off the 3rd rail once I landed on it. It took a lot of time to get the contraption perfect.
