Three Silent Hill games, Silent Hill movie, Resident Evil 4 remake, Callisto Protocol, Alan Wake 2, Dead Space remake... Wonder what triggered this new life into the genre? Odd that we're getting so much at the same time.
When do we get a new Alone in the Dark?

OK, Deadspace looks pretty fantastic ...

I'm really debating that Collectors Edition.

Well, that sucks. The Deadspace CE from LRG shipped the game seperately (as the statues aren't ready), but it won't arrive till the 31st. I was hoping to play this weekend.
To those of you getting today, have fun!

I'll probably get it later today in store somewhere... Dead Space was one of my favorite series till EA killed it.

I think I was burned out on these in 99/2000 with blue stinger and code Veronica.

So I did get Dead Space and it's great but hold up.
Play Signalis. It's great. So fudging good. Like a Mashup of Resident Evil and Silent Hill with a weird as fudge story.
It's like if A24 made a video game.
I'm gonna probably play it again.
So fudging good.

It's on Gamepass which is where I played it.
There's a physical coming out next month that I might just buy on PS4.

Man, I don't scare easy, but Dead Space is keeping me on the edge of my seat and I can't just power binge it. Half way (I think?) through Chapter 7. What an absolutely amazing remaster.

There are 12 chapters. The first letter in each spells out ... People were hoping Dead Space 2 would do something similar but considering what happens it should change depending. Massive spoilers though.

Rebranding topic to RE4 since I don't see anyone talking about it.
Holy crap this game is fantastic! By far the best of the remakes, but 4 always was the best of the series. I just don't remember it being this big!
I'm amazed at how little I remember from the original. Yet the additions to the game and QoL upgrades, are very awesome. The charms and attache modifications, do make it a bit easy. I can see where these would better balance out hardcore, but in standard ... upgrades and excessive ammo just feel way too easy at this point.
If you haven't yet started, I highly recommend playing on hardcore. Standard has some challenge, but honestly, it's a bit too easy. I am maxed out on inventory at this point!
I'm so sad that I think I'm nearly done (nearing end of Chapter 12). Really debating a second playthrough. How the hell are you supposed to finish this in 5.5 hours? I'm already rolling in like 22 hours!

Any idea if this remake has the adaptive difficulty of the original RE4? The game would make enemies be smarter or dumber just depending on how well (or not) you were playing. I thought that was cool and I wish more games did that.

been so long since I played the original. I was struggling for awhile with ammo/health but I'm fine now, on chapter 11. Using the Red9 for Pistol.

Hrm, not sure, don't think so. Although once you get in your groove mixing up a couple shots with melee, all fights (regular enemies) are pretty rinse and repeat.

@Kommie you rocking the bolt gun? That thing fully upgraded is just nuts for conserving ammo.

Nope. When I tried it, takes too much time to reload to be worth it, IMO.
Early on, yah, but upgraded... It's a beast. Especially after the exclusive upgrade. I am hemoraging ammo elsewhere because I can largely rely on reusable bolts. It's awesome, but also a bit of a crutch.
