Description

If you've never seen A Knights Tale, then you've obviously never experienced an epic cinema masterpiece. A Knights Tale stars Heath Ledger, (famous from hits such as The Patriot, 10 Things I Hate About You, and a few recent theatrical releases in the past few weeks) who delivers one of the best performances I've ever witnessed. The emotion presented is hard to capture so well, and Heath did that -- perfectly. Also included are Roland, played by Mark Addy, Count Adhemar, played by Rufus Sewell, Wat, played by Alan Tudyk (a personal favorite I might add), and Chaucer, played by Paul Bettany. Not to mention Shannyn Sossamon as Lady Jocelyn, who's a newcomer to the film industry, and a sizzling one at that, who's bound to be hot in future films.

The plot is that of a simple squire named William Thatcher, played by Heath Ledger. He takes an off chance at being a knight, breaking all the rules in the process, and tackles the jousting world in a way that no one had ever seen. Only one challenge stands in the way of his childhood dream of becoming the greatest knight and jouster ever, and that challenge happens to be the bad ass of the sport, Count Adhemar. When these two massive forces finally collide to see who will be crowned the ultimate champion, it will be one hell of a show. You don't want to miss the fireworks, love, drama, and hilarious comedy of this movie.

I've never laughed so hard while watching a movie like this, and I've seen it sixteen times already. The laughs don't stop either. So the bottom line is that you will not regret watching this movie, and the DVD just adds to the fun.

The extras include:
HBO Making-of Special
11 Behind-the-Scenes Featurettes
Deleted Scenes with Filmmaker's Intros (Several are just hilarious)
Music Videos
Theatrical Trailers
Filmographies
Production Notes
Animated Menus
An exclusive Knight's Tale 3-D Screensaver for DVD-Rom owners!

Also, here are a few quotes from IMDB.com that should perk your interest in this movie:

Jocelyn: Better a silly girl with a flower than a silly boy with a horse and a stick.
Wat: It's called a lance. Hello?
[Watching William practice jousting]
Wat: I think he's getting worse.
Roland: He is getting worse.
Wat: I don't understand women.
Chaucer: Nor do I. But they understand us......
[Looks at Wat]
Chaucer: Well, maybe not you.
Chaucer: All human activity lies within the artist's scope.
[Looks at Wat]
Chaucer: Maybe not yours.
Roland: Well, that was different.
Chaucer: Well, it's time we celebrate our differences.
Roland: Just maybe not in public.
Chaucer: Yes, master Falhurst, I'm well aware a good fonging is on the way.
Chaucer: Very good...
William: Was she watching Geoff?
Chaucer: What?
William: Did she see me?
Chaucer: Yes, she saw you.
William: Did she see me take the hit?
Chaucer: Yes, she saw you take the hit.
William: Well, was she concerned?
Chaucer: It was painful, her eyes welled up, it was awful.
Wat: Say something about her breasts.
Roland: Yeah, you miss her breasts.
Chaucer: There she is, William. The embodiment of love. Your Venus.
William: And how I hate her...

There are many more priceless lines, but you'll just have to watch the movie to see for yourself. Trust me, they're hilarious, and much better first hand, than just reading them.

So in short, get this DVD at all costs. You won't regret it, I promise.
