Doesn't look like there's a discussion thread for PS4, unless I'm blind. Let's discuss PS4, then, in this thread.
Recent news: according to Kotaku, Gamestop is no longer taking preorders for the system. Hope you got your preorder in!

I only played the first bit to see how it was but I really don't want to play with randoms if they're just gonna skip through cutscenes and whatnot. If you wanna give the story a run through, let me know. Offer is open to anyone else too. Multiplayer story is only 2 people so whoever wants to give it a go get at me.
i have played through the story on bronze, and a couple on silver. i'm trying to work on other classes right now in the hopes i'll be capable at nightmare soon. im akfamayn on playstation

Sweet, I just won this in an auction and think I'll look to play it early next year since I only beat it on the PS3 during the summer. Want to play the DLC too.

There's Dragon's Crown, Diablo 3, Toukiden 1 & 2, and Titan Quest. I've played all those games on different systems but they're also on PS4. For PS4 specifically, you could look at Elder Scrolls Online. I'm not really sure how the multiplayer in that game works, though.

To those with a 1TB drive, do you find that's enough space, or did you upgrade to a larger capacity drive and/or use an external drive? I've got 12+ disc games and a half dozen small digital games, and I'm wondering if I should just upgrade the drive to 2TB or 4TB first thing when I get the PS4. Or, is 1TB enough?

I've got a 1TB Pro and it's totally enough.
I even have Warzone installed, about 10 other games, and a couple disc ones.
Also, if you want more space just hook up an external USB 3 drive, no need to upgrade anything

I bought a 2tb external and Im glad I did. You barely have any games though, so 1TB might be enough for you. Online games (MW, Battlefield 4/5, Battlefront 2, etc) were the ones killing me and I do have a ridiculous amount of PS4 games so that didnt help the 500gb situation.

I did eventually run out of space and needed to delete some things, but honestly if you're mainly playing a few different games at a time, and not 30+, you'll probably be OK.

Hmm, good advice, everyone. It's just games like Horizon or God of War that say 50GB install size that worries me. I've also got Skyrim, Diablo 3, the Assassin's Creed (Odyssey, Origina, Unity, Syndicate) games and I know I'll likely pick up DLC for some of those. Most of my digital games are small, the biggest is probably Infamous Last Light.
When you use an External drive, do you put the games you're not currently playing on it? Or is it pretty good at reading games quickly off the external HDD in order to play them?
For those that upgraded, do you spring for an SSD or SSDH (hybrid SSD and HDD)? Or a 7200 RPM spin speed?

Not necessarily. You put whatever games you want on it and you can play the game off of the external. I havent noticed performance issues at all.
Cool tip: You can actually have different external hdds with different games on them. The ps4 will let you swap between them. You cannot have them at the same time though.

Divinity Original Sin 2 (and maybe the first one) is the only ones I know of that fit the true rpg bill that has that co-op you're looking for online.
To me, you can't call it a true rpg unless it's turn-based. Anything else is an action rpg or has rpg elements.

Yeah i heard that game is great, but I'm looking for something more casual, like traditional old school console rpgs like final fantasy dragon quest breath of fire. My friend is used to stuff like that and easy switch games like animal crossing, mario party and kart. she wouldn't like something like Divinity.

it does not matter for external.

I usually do but there is no real need to this gen. But until recently I had an external HDD and felt better about unplugging it when not in use.

I bought 2 of these here off someone and have 1 for my X1X and 1 for my PS4. Absolutely love them, they're tiny. With these I leave them plugged in and no longer offload unplayed things to them. I just install things wherever and play them from wherever.
