Doesn't look like there's a discussion thread for PS4, unless I'm blind. Let's discuss PS4, then, in this thread.

Recent news: according to Kotaku, Gamestop is no longer taking preorders for the system. Hope you got your preorder in!

I sit about 12' back of a 160" screen, so I would still recommend a 70" if you're sitting 6' back to be honest, but I am all about immersion.

In my "retro room" where my retro stuff, plus my PS3 and Wii U and PSVR, I have a 55" TV that sits about 6 to 7 feet in front of me and I am already looking for a bigger TV.

having said all that. I had a great experience playing Ni no Kuni II on my 65" OLED because I sat up close at the end of my bed. Face only about 4 feet from the screen. How close you sit really matters. If you are at a desk or sit close to your stand a 55" would be fine too.

Like Erick,I have a home theater set-up and I play my PS4 Pro games on a 4K HDR projector on a 160" screen, and I would say that even my older 1080p projector gives me a better gaming experience than a 55" OLED, because the sheer size is so immersive and you get such a nice far image distance. Playing HZD at 4K HDR at 160" was an amazing experience. You want good HDR and brightness, but a 70" screen is going to give you a lot more enjoyment than a 55" screen, in my opinion. I would take an 80" LCD vs a 55" OLED at the same price point. Just something to think about, everyone has their preferences. For what it's worth...
I totally agree with you about size. I could have bought a 55" OLED or so instead of my 75" Sony 850e...but my old TV was 55" and there was no way I wasn't going bigger.

Even now, I kinda wish I waited a bit and grabbed an 85".

Once you want above 75" you really need to look into projectors. You start spending insane amounts of money for 5" - 10" that just going Projector where you can have so much more screen size for your money.

Is Sega really going to potentially delay Judgment in the west because of some fool's personal addiction back east? Uh, not sure if Japan is aware, but if you're a celebrity in the west here and not doing nose candy, then you're not doing it right.

For $1,500 you can get a really nice DLP .47" DMD unit coming up that is 4K with HDR tone mapping, and really good specs I could get into detail about.

At that price it's a steal of a value. 50 to 60ms lag tho so if you're getting paid for gaming might not be for you..

Ya, they're great. It's good to see the price on some OLED's coming down too. I think they're around 1 grand now. When I first got mine a couple of years back, I paid close to 2.

It's been out in Japan for a couple minutes now. Honestly, as long as they keep the middle finger up to woke non-customers and keep making awesome crap, they can sell or not sell things however they want over there.

i do hope though that this doesnt affect the western release i really want to play this.

SO in monster sized rumors today.. Sony stock and Take Two stock( the parent company to Rockstar and 2k games) are both up a few points amid rumors Sony is in board level discussions about buying take two.. imagine PS5 coming out like, hey yall, we got exclusive Borderlands 3, GTA6 and another red dead game in 2032, and some 2k stuff. word is microsoft is buying up studios to start really pumping the games out so sony is considering responding by buying up a big one that holds several big properties and take two certainly is that. now is it unlikely to be a thing, ya definitely. but thats the rumor and stocks are moving because of it, but that does happen.

If GTA6 was PS5 Exclusive you can bury the Xbox for good.

if its true thats pretty huge. alot of those single genre and just one or two game people that would make their choice for them. we've been mentioning those people alot but there are people out there who buy consoles for one or two games a year and there are a lot of those people who are gta or 2k people. it would be massive if its true and if they do it. add gta and red dead, borderlands, 2k basketball to sony's already pretty sizeable first party lineup and youre capturing a whole other part of the demographic. xcom, civilization and other stuff too. buried down in 2k is one of my favorite series ever, sid meier's pirates, not sure if this would be good bad or indifferent for that, probably wouldnt matter, 2k hasnt seemed real interested in having the Sid team do anything but Civ.

Can Sony really afford Take Two though? Aren't they the biggest AAA publisher around?

They could, but that would mean emptying their entire cash reserves to do so. Like every penny. Definitely not worth it, imo and no way the board would sanction such a move.

I laughed when I saw this rumor earlier. It's just silly. Sony would be better served putting a ring on Insomniac and maybe acquiring a small but talented team like Bluepoint and turning them into the next first-party powerhouse. That would do for Western acquisitions. And in the East, they could acquire someone like Level-5, higher some decent writers for them, and give us some first-party JRPGs.

Yeah that's what I thought. If it were Microsoft maybe they could afford it with ease but I remember not too long ago Sony hurting for funds and just when they're finally climbing out and making profits and higher revenue outputs again they just seek to dump it all on a company and put themselves into hock, for what, exclusivity? Doesn't make sense to me either.

And funny you should mention Level-5. I'm actually in the middle of making my weekly episode for my YT channel and it focuses on the lost franchises of the past and Dark Cloud is one of them. Would love to see Sony rekindle that love affair. Such an underrated game series. One of the many I'm touching on each week.

Left Alive should have been Left 4 Dead.

But there's already a game series called Left 4 Dead, so it should have just not existed. I can't remember a game averaging so low 34.38%. The PC is at 39%.
