Doesn't look like there's a discussion thread for PS4, unless I'm blind. Let's discuss PS4, then, in this thread.

Recent news: according to Kotaku, Gamestop is no longer taking preorders for the system. Hope you got your preorder in!

I have sent in a console to get repaired twice, my Gamecube (got via trade here and was oow) and my PS2. Nintendo had lax warranty and was able to get it repaired for free, Sony was going to charge $120 to replace the drive HOWEVER, the guy I talked to was really cool and I don't remember exactly what he did but I ended up getting it fixed for free.

Anyway, it was $120 back then, I am not sure if it's changed because it's been 16 years since my last issue. I would just go get a new system. You should still be able to do data transfer pretty easily (assuming your stuff is not on an external). When I upgraded from my Slim to the Pro all I did was take a network cable plugged it directly into both and BAM. Of course having everything on an external is even easier raspberry

Yeah I'm seeing around $200 to repair direct from Sony. Ouch.

Everyone's adopting the Apple method, since they get away with it with multi-thousand dollar devices. "Oy vey, this repair will cost as much as the hardware! You sure you don't want to just buy new hardware?"

Yeah, Sony has been doing that since forever basically.

You might be able to find someone local that would give a much better rate.

Just beat Spider-Man and got the plat in one play-through. Insomniac really knocked it out of the park. I beat God of War before this and that was also a fantastic game. Now I can either start Red Dead II or Detroit.

Spider-man was pretty solid, even if I was getting annoyed at the gauntlets by the end of it

Should be an easy fix if you find a drive for cheap.

Ive had my PS4 almost since release and the drive hasnt failed me with the exception of the ocasional spitting out the discs on its own (i know how to fix it tho). The Power Supply died once though (due to a thunder storm), easy fix and only $25.

How hard was the Spider-man plat? I have it and want to play that also but I probably should finish RDR2 seeing as how I am only 2% in and have not played since early November frown I am looking for a good deal on Detroit, I can't believe with all these sales for the last month or more that it never popped up at all.

It's not hard, it just takes time. By the time you finish the game you've probably either unlocked everything or are about to unlock everything required for the off-spots and it's down to 100% each city area, which requires you to do all the crimes (and arenas and challenges); the crimes usually come last and pop up sporadically over time. It's just a time sink. Turn off the in-game music and fire up Spotify, it'll take a few hours.

Think I cleared the game in like, a bit more than 12 or so hours; finishing all the crimes took another day for me, so like six to eight hours on top. Not difficult, just have to clear a crime and wait for the next one to pop up until you "finish", then move to the next section.

Yeah just swing around to different areas of the district and crimes should pop up. Takes a lot for me to go out of my way to plat a game but I enjoyed just traversing the city so it wasn't too hard for me.

Traversal was probably my favorite thing about Spider-Man. I didn't think a Spider-Man game would nail that feeling of being Spider-Man as well as Spider-Man 2 on the PS2 did, but the folks at Insomniac managed to pull it off. Such a great game. I need to play through the rest of the DLC at some point.

Just stumbled on this really cool video series on Days Gone. I think the game might be winning me over. I really like what I'm seeing with the world design and the game's systems. Bike customization looks really cool as well. I hope they release something that highlights the story in a meaningful way because that may just put me over the edge.

Days Gone is not a preorder for me. It's a game I'll wait and see reviews and people's opinions before I buy it or maybe I'll gameshare.

I wasn't even interested in the game until I watched that video. It always seemed kinda shallow to me like most zombie games do, but seeing stuff about the world and the game's systems gives me a bit of hope that it's more than just a generic open-world zombie game. Maybe it's the way the video is cut that makes it seem interesting, but I am definitely a LOT more interested than I was before.
