Recently found some original NES art. The paintings were used in the Time Lord manual. The wide piece measures around 8" x 17", while the smaller pieces are around 5" x 7". The illustrator of these pieces has been in the industry for over 30 years. He has worked with Milton Bradley, Parker Brothers, Hasbro, and many other global companies. His work is awesome and spans many genres.

Not sure if you all caught the rumblings, but someone (Bronty from NintendoAge) recently offered $100,000 for the original Contra art. Interest in video game art has grown quite a bit the last few years, so I consider myself very lucky to own these. Hope you enjoy.

Contra is a little different. Huge game. I've never heard of Time Lord. You'd have to find someone really into that game.

Yes, completely different. I don't think I'd have to find a Time Lord fan, specifically. NES art doesn't come up very often, and while the game isn't popular, the art is good.

Thanks Sid. There's a fair amount of work that goes into these finds, but sometimes it works out.

No immediate plans to sell. They were pretty affordable and I really like them.

Article about the 100k Contra Art seeker

Fascinating guy. Can't possibly imagine he has any competitors in that market with his set price points.

There are two members of NA that account for the vast majority of original art, Dan being one of them. They were way ahead of the ball game. Dan is a great guy. He helped me tremendously with the movie art collection I acquired last year.

Traded fudging sealed Stadium Events for Panic Restaurant art, my God.

I guess technically that art's obviously more rare but who would ASK for $30K? And who'd PAY it? Jeez. I usually don't condone repros, BUT IN THIS CASE...

But I guess I can feel for him. If I had $100K to blow on one piece of art and someone walked up with a big oil canvas with the original Ninja Gaiden NES box art painting, I'd probably drop it. Honestly it'd be cool to own the Contra painting as well. But you know the buyer's name is Arnold, and he's not giving it up.
