Man that's nuts! Wish I had the space but honestly don't think I'd end up using it a lot.

Same, it's fun for a bit, gets old ... I'd prefer the TMNT II Arcade, but I've wanted to get something cool like this for my kids.

FYI - It has been on clearance at Walmart in store for $150 recently, so you might get lucky.

I know it's not the "same" as having replica arcade machines (albeit smaller) - but once I got the Atgames Legends Ultimate (the bitpixel marquee is AWESOME), I saw no need for these small Arcade1ups cluttering my place.

Edit - still showing as available for me btw yes GO GO GO

As much as I'd like an arcade (or a crane machine), I think I learned my lesson when it comes to very large items after having a pool table and a huge punching bag stand.

For these things to not be in the way, you really need an extra room dedicated to large items.

Nope, still $199 for me. Says "only 1 left" though....maybe that's at a local store?

I have a full sized mame cabinet. If you have the time and money, get a broken machine and put a pc in there.I spent a little under a grand all in for my cabinet, and it has working coin door, thousands of games with artwork, lit marquee, control panel artwork, and a trisync monitor to automatically change resolutions based on the game. It also takes a beating when my friends inevitability go too hard on it playing street fighter third strike or simpsons.

But now I wouldn't dare undertake the project. Required a ton of hours fiddling with the software for me. At least 50 hours into it.

I've got about 8 finished arcades in my basement (Spy Hunter, Galaga, Centipede, Tron, 2-player Final Lap sit-down, Virtua Fighter, Bubble Bobble, Xevious). And probably another 8-10 in parts/pieces that need work (Joust, Robotron, Sinistar, etc.). I haven't touched most of it in years. I've seriously been thinking of just doing a really nice multi-cade and selling off most of my collection... I never thought that I'd go that way -- but I just got tired of working on them and rarely playing them unless someone comes over. It'd be so nice to just have a single multi-cade type machine that supports 4 players with a decent screen... Hmmm...

Yah, I I totally want to build a single machine at some point. I can't see consuming a ton of space for stuff that ultimately won't get a ton of use. Pinball machines though? Oh man, I want a dozen!

Built Simpsons tonight. For $200, it's quite nice. Better materials than anticipated. Sadly the bowling game is just awful. Was really hoping for something a bit better.

Also, bring that Simpsons and TMNT II are similar and idenital key layout, shame that they don't have it as a combo.

Looks like you can easily mod these units but I'll wait to build something new in our next house along with pinball machines.

Sounds like many of us are seeing life as a different beast nowadays. Having a huge collection and huge arcade and what not...just isn't as important (or, we don't have time/energy for it).

I keep debating a near complete sell off, but holy crap it's an insane amount of work. I think we hit on this in another thread, but agreed ... it's just not as much of a priority anymore. I find myself enjoying action figures/statues more than anything lately, but even that is running its course. I dunno, I'll probably hang onto it all with the intent of passing it down to my kids, or selling it in a decade to pay for some big life event and/or college for the kids.

I still don't think pinball machines are a bad investment though. Who doesn't like to play pinball? Just the cost of entry and maintenance is not overly appealing.

I'm in the same place on the collection and pinball. I bought this machine recently. https://www.kohls.co...

Paid $450 but got $90 Kohl's cash with it so it felt like a good deal. It's virtual pinball so I was hesitant but it has 10 tables and it's addictive. I have no buyer's remorse. I recommend getting started with something like that. Be warned, it won't be your last machine if you impulse-buy like I do.

I'll second the AtGames Legends series. If you're hard up on space, they have the Legends Gamer Pro, which is basically a big 2 player controller that connects to your TV. An hour or two downloading the "sauce" and I have over 6000 games on it via CoinOps, my son loves it.

Regularly goes on sale for just under $100, too.

That machine has a GREAT lineup on it!! You don't mind that it's virtual then? It feels reasonably close to real pinball?

I tried hard to convince the GF to let me get the Atgames Pinball when we lived in a big house...but the 1000sqft apt isn't going to house a pinball machine sadly. Getting to keep the Atgames arcade was pushing it.

I have the full size machine, which I love...but I experienced too much lag on the Gamer Pro. I have the Pro and the Mini both sitting in boxes :(

I was having lag, then I got a powered USB hub and connected the controller directly to the puck. Haven't had any issues since, worth a try if you haven't already.

You can turn off the wireless controller connection by holding the 2 player button for 5 seconds or so until the blinking lights turn off.
