Trade in any working android or iOS smartphone with normal wear and tear only (no screen cracks) for $200 off.

Samsung has their S8 listed at $725, but also has a $100 discount going on currently.

Or go for the S8+ with the same deal, only $100 more at $525.

Gear 360 addon option for $49.

Thanks for sharing. I may do this while I sell my iPhone 6S before 7S hits in September.

I went ahead and ordered one. Also ordered the Gear 360 camera for an extra $50, seems like a neat accessory and you can always sell the camera for $150 or more on eBay.

Thanks again for sharing.

Finally trading in my S3 after years of use. Couldn't pass up the deal, super nice with the Gear 360 addon... I'll craigslist that and really bottom out that final price.

it's slightly smaller in dimension, lighter with a slightly larger screen.

Do you think a BLU advance 4.0 would qualify? T&C says the trade in phone has to be valued at $20. It sells on amazon for over $20.

It's funny because the one page at Samsung mentions the "value at at least $20" bit, but it doesn't actually say that anywhere in the real Terms & Conditions. It just says any working phone in there.

And the FAQ is funny too because it says "Any smartphone running iOS or Android operating system is eligible for Trade-in." But then later says "Eligibility and Trade-in value are product and carrier specific and may vary depending on the time of purchase. Additionally, if you are purchasing an unlocked device, trade-in values will vary."

It then goes on to say to check their website for more details on Trade-in Value and eligible devices, but doesn't really have that information anywhere. :)

In any case, I think you'd be fine with that. It looks like they will take almost anything really.

Worst case, if they don't like it, they will "value it at $25" and give you the option to either return the new phone or pay the difference.

@John - Yeah, I think I will bite the bullet. I mean worst case (as you mentioned), really is more of an inconvenience if anything, if I decide to return the S8. Otherwise its great deal.

Indeed. I'm more of a "~$200 max for a phone" guy or I'd be all over this deal too. For those that spend $400-$700 on phones, this is a really good looking deal. yes

Well this sucks, I bought my Samsung Galaxy S8+ on May 1, and I paid full price. Plus, I didn't get any credit for my old phone, but I had to trade it in to 'upgrade'. However, i was kinda having some issues with the battery not charging correctly, and it was a huge pain in the ass, so I was kind of in a hurry to get a new phone. The only positive thing was that Best Buy Mobile did offer a $100 gift card and ATT waived my activation fee, so it wasn't a total loss.

But on another down side, 15 days after I upgraded, Best Buy had a deal with a free $100 gift card AND an extra charger valued at $100. They told me I missed the opportunity to price match that deal by one day, because they offer price matches for 14 days. Then on May 3, Samsung started a similar deal where you received $150 worth of free stuff, like headphones and something else. They told me I didn't qualify since I purchased my phone before May 3.

The phone was released on April 21, right? You can't buy within the first two weeks of release and expect some great deal. I'm surprised that they are doing it already.

If you're going to be first in line to buy -- expect to pay full price. smile

This has been Apple's gameplan for years now. You're just doing it for Android now. smile

The trend I'm seeing with phones is typically within a month of release T-Mobile or Sprint will offer a BOGO, Best Buy will offer a gift card, Verizon and AT&T will offer trade-in promos, Samsung will have some giveaway offer and Apple won't do anything. iPhones have some of the best trade in or carrier switch offers (I traded in an iPhone 5s for $400 off an iPhone 7 last September) shortly after the release of a new phone. Samsung is most common to have a BOGO offer within the first 2 months.

Yes, it was released on April 21. I actually went on April 24 to look at the phones, and the Best Buy Mobile associate said if I had preordered the phone by the Thursday before, Samsung had a deal where you get $100 off the purchase price, plus another bonus of getting some stuff for free. I missed that deal by a few days. I was short on time on the 24th, so I went back the next week, and that's when they had the gift card deal.
