Besides Fifth Element, id say The Messenger is her best movie I guess. I should watch that again, its been like 20 years, maybe?

How about Stone? Not a great movie but she did a good job playing white trash.

The Curse of La Llarona 6.5/10

The setup was alright, it had decent acting, there was a pretty cool "twist" in the middle, ithad a creepy moment here and there, and the ending wasn't bad. The problems were that they shouldn't have showed the face the they overdid it with the cheap scares. Even the decent creepy moments were overshadowed by cheap scares.

Let Me In 8/10: This is a very well done horror-ish flick about a young bullied and neglected boy who befriends a strange girl who happens to be a vampire. Her father is basically a serial killer, sneaking out at night to kill someone and drain their blood to feed her. Kodi Smit-McPhee and ChloŽ Grace Moretz give really good performances, in their younger years, as the two leads and have a sweet chemistry that portrays a believable childhood relationship. The bullying Kodi's character endures is super dark and heart-breaking. Richard Jenkins also gives an understated performance as the fatherly companion, and there's a neat twist with his character you figure out towards the end.

Is there an 'official' Endgame discussion thread? I thought somebody had created one but I don't see it now.

So a big group of my pals and I have plans to go see Endgame in IMAX on Sunday because all the showtimes earlier were sold out. Except that tonight when a few of us went to see Shazam of all movies, just to tide us over, there were still several "sneak peak" tickets available. The clerk looked actually surprised when we asked for Shazam tickets instead. We obviously weren't going to switch plans to see Endgame without our ladies and other pals, so, pretty defeated and somewhat reluctantly, we stuck to our original plan. So to say Shazam suddenly got a much steeper hill to climb for us is an understatement.

But climb it did, and it was real good. Just a fun time with some surprisingly good monster design. I don't know much about Shazam or that lore so I didn't see that coming. It was a bit too long and I had a few very small qualms with some of the action and acting in spots but otherwise it was very enjoyable. That's all I really have to say - Shazam was real fun, leaps and bounds better than any other recent DC movie. Really funny too.
Shazam - 8.5/10

Just see it twice! That's what I'm doing. I went by myself yesterday and am going with my wife/friends tomorrow.

Haha we were absolutely contemplating just seeing it and trying to keep it a secret from everyone else. It took everything in me not to.

I'm seeing with friends in about 27 hours. For once, I bought the physical tickets way ahead of time.

Infinity War was pretty confusing, talking Raccoon and tree. Made no sense.

The pal I do my podcast with had only seen like Thor and Iron Man when he went to see Infinity War and he was fine. I'd say see Endgame, if you're not mega invested it should still be fun for the spectacle.

I'll eventually see it but it's not in any way a priority for me. Never liked the super hero genre as a kid... still feel the same way.

Avengers: Endgame (2019) - 9.5/10

It was everything.

I read one short blurb about this film after avoiding all possible spoilers and it said the movie was essentially the culmination of the entire MCU and I didn't know what that meant until I saw it and I concur. The only reason I didn't give it a 10 was because there were a few brief moments of blatant pandering. I guess they felt they needed to give every possible type of person a little nod to let them know they were being inclusive of them in the big finale, but nothing that was long enough to be movie-ruining or anything.
