I felt a great disturbance in the Internet, as if millions of neckbeards suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. I fear something normal has happened.

Sure are, and it's going to rule watching them make blatant fools out of themselves. Look on the bright side my man.

No way a big Marvel movie was ever going to bomb out either way. Too much money behind it and the Marvel machine is in full gear. Plus in this case, it's a fun movie.

When was the last effective boycott of anything?

As far as movies go, they'll claim credit for Solo losing money despite the multiple factors working against that movie other than disgruntled dads. So, no idea.

Solo still made money even with the insane budget iirc.

I actually just watched that again over the weekend. A lot of wasted potential.

I still enjoyed Solo for what it was and think they'll end up making a follow-up side movie to payoff the teases at the end, they should just wait a year or two after Episode IX to do it. Probably won't be Solo II or anything, but another side movie that follows up on Q'ira (sp?) and her partnership with Maul.

Have you ever met a Star Wars or Marvel you didn't like? Serious question. I think you simply slant towards liking most movies.

I'd watch another Star Wars side movie though for sure.

I thought Iron Man 1&2 were garbage, think Civil War is worth some major criticism, thought Black Panther & Doctor Strange were slightly overrated, and obviously had plenty of qualms with the Star Wars prequels. But I'm not gonna pretend like I don't lean toward enjoying the superhero/sci-fi genre in general because I absolutely do. Liking "most" movies is a stretch though, I'd say most of the horror movies we cover on my podcast are strong dislikes. I just usually don't pay to see movies I don't think I'll enjoy on some level unless it's FOR that podcast, and if I see a bad one without paying for it I don't really feel a huge need to criticize it harshly because it didn't get my money. Not the type to feign outrage over movies for "wasting my time" or anything like that. When discussing movies here I'd rather talk about what I liked instead of dwell on what I didn't.

But I'll definitely let you know when I'm caught off guard by something and hate it - BvS, Justice League, Venom & Happy Death Day 2U are somewhat recent ones that I'd rather swallow a bullet than watch again.

Stop being reasonable, damn it.

And ya the whole wasted my time thing can be a bit dramatic especially when it's a time waster/shut your brain off kinda movie. In that case...what was the reviewer expecting?

Sorry, Iron Man 1 is terrific.

2 and 3, below average as far as marvel movies go.

Am I the only guy who liked Iron Man 2 and 3?

Then again, I also liked The Dark World.

Very few Marvel movies fell to the level of "meh" for me. Guardians 2 and CM did. The rest of them were largely very entertaining.

I liked Dark World more than the Iron Man sequels easy, but that's not saying much at all haha. That and Incredible Hulk are both "take it or leave it" movies whereas IM 1&2 are just pretty bad compared to the MCU as a whole.

I lile Guardians 2 more than the first. Felt like the humor came off a bit more natural and I'm a sucker for father/son stories. So on top of my appreciation for sci-fi, Guardians 2 checked those boxes big time.

I liked Iron Man 3. I thought 2 was amongst the weakest MCU movies, down with Thor 1 and 2.

Real sweet comments from Kevin Smith on Stan Lee's Captain Marvel cameo:

https://www.youtube....

Fudgein loved that cameo. That, the cameo in Spider-verse and the cameo in Spider-Man PS4 are probably my favorite Stan cameos. Helps that I'm a big Kevin Smith fan, especially of his View Askewniverse stuff, so Mallrats was huge for me in my younger years. Always loved that Stan cameo and all the stories Kevin shared about filming that day. So seeing Stan "practicing" his Mallrats script in Captain Marvel was a real highlight. Trust me, true believer!

What yall really know about batbombing? When your boy is least expecting it and you see he has a full cart of selections, drop the most expensive form of Dark Knight available in the cart and wait until they accidentally buy it
