I don't know if this still reigns true like it did last gen, but those cooling systems really only help to blow more dust into your console than what would otherwise get in there. I had one for my 360 (back when RRoD was a thing), and noticed an increase in dust build up on the side of the console where the fan was blowing air into. I've heard of a good amount of people needing to clean their PS4 Pro's fans out though, so routine maintenance may be your best route if the fans still work the same as they did last gen.

My opinion is don't get a cooler for your console. They don't help anything. If you have to get a USB hub get a 3.0 one. I don't know anything about the hubs or what's a good or bad one but I know they're 3.0.

If your console is in an entertainment center, it CAN get hotter than it should. This is my issue - so I took a PC fan and an old 5v power supply (from something, I dunno) and created a plug in fan that I installed into the back of the entertainment center. When I play, I plug it in so it pulls the hot air away from the PS4 Pro. With this, my Pro never cranks up the fan speed...it just purrs like a kitten. Without the fan, it struggles and runs high speed constantly.

Maybe this is something to consider...

Pros made up until a few years ago were notorious for running really hot because of shoddy design but I think they've fixed that. Still, if its in an enclosed spot they can definitely heat up the area that they're sitting in.

I have one of the first Pro systems, I have mine out in the open and It's fine, though it did make noise the one day when I was in the middle of a 4 hour COD session.
