With Hulu's Cyber Monday deal about to come to an end, I need to finally sh*t or get off the pot. Is Hulu worth it for $2 a month? I have cable and a DVR, so I watch most TV through cable. I also have Netflix, Prime, and Disney+.

Yes, it's worth it for $2 a month. It's not worth the full price though, IMO. I wouldn't have it if it weren't for my wife whereas I'd gladly pay full price for HBO, Netflix, and Disney+.

I'm actually canceling Hulu this month. They've raised the price. And have started forcing more ads.

i think hulu is the one im going to let go as well. we have netflix, hulu, dc universe and crunchyroll. all i watch is anime, and crunchy has that covered, hulu does have some funimation stuff crunchy doesnt have but i can always get that some time and catch up and then cancel again, we just dont watch enough tv to have all this stuff. i am going to keep netflix for a little longer just to hate on the witcher series, and am going to dump dcu i think we just dont use it like i thought we would.

Raising commercial free (and I still get commercials) to 60.99. I'm probably going to cancel it soon too. Wanting to check out Youtube TV to compare. Sling has crapty/spotty service from the last time I used it.

Is it pretty much only worth it if you don't have cable? I don't really see the point, but I'm in the same boat as Drizz...$2 a month is almost impossible to pass up. It's worth it for Seinfeld alone.

Hulu with ads is garbage, but I think anything with interrupting ads is garbage these days. Hulu without ads is fine if you're into certain shows. I find it less interesting to browse than Netflix, I only subscribe for specific shows already on there.

Hulu should've figured out how to eat the cost of those commercials. Only 3 shows have pre-roll commercials now but Hulu is known as the "pay for no ads but still get ads" service. Their public appearance is so bad.

3? I've started to get ads forced on me for half of the shows in my list. IASIP, The Good Place and another that I can't remember off the top of my head (maybe South Park or Rick Morty). All within the last couple of weeks. More and more shows are starting to get them added to them. Not only do you get one at the start, but then they put in a couple that stop the show while watching like its a live broadcast. Pissed me off one too many times and I canceled. Paying to not had something and then have it start being forced on you despite a premium fee is complete bullcrap.

That is weird, I definitely don't get ads for IASIP. I just went for 3 because that's what's listed on their website:
https://help.hulu.co...

We get a pre and post-roll ad for Grey's Anatomy but have to live with it because it's the main reason we subscribe to Hulu. I would unsubscribe the second we got an ad break mid show.

I think part of the issue is they consider some shows "on demand" if you try to watch them anywhere from 12-36hrs after they originally air. So in those cases, you're forced to watch commercials. Other shows are getting commercials at the beginning and end and still some other shows are getting them randomly during the show, which customer support won't acknowledge or fix.

Only reason I have it was the student discount that has Hulu/Spotify/Showtime for $5 a month.

Hulu is great, what a bunch of whiners. Oh no, commercials! How did any of you survive pre-2000?

It's a huge difference when you're specifically paying quite a bit extra to avoid the commercials, but they're still giving you commercials. No one is talking about the free or $2-5/mo crap.

I got the Hulu deal last year for $0.99/month. And i used it maybe 10 times all year.

The UI was awkward to navigate and the selection just wasn't there for me.

It's all relative to me. I compare it to Netflix not network television in the 90's. That's the same reason I can't play games with little to no saves anymore. I'm too used to saving whenever I want.
