Welcome to the GTZ Movie Club!
This is V2. See below.

The Skinny:
It's the same deal as a book club. I'm thinking we choose a movie every week and those who agree to participate make it their beezewax to watch the movie at their leisure within that week, then come here to analyze and discuss it. No pressure whatsoever. If you can't make a week or a couple, then whatev. NO WORRIES. But do try.

Choosing a Movie:
We'll function in 1 week intervals - Monday-Sunday. No more voting system. Each week, the individual whose turn it was the previous week will use a random generator to choose the next person to get a turn, and then again to choose a random letter of the alphabet by entering numbers 1-26. From there, whoever won the first random drawing will need to choose a movie that's title begins with whichever letter won the second random drawing. And thus, we have our movie for the week. Thanks to @whitefire for fleshing this aspect out.

Historically, Netflix seems to be the best choice for the majority of folks - but I'd say Hulu and Amazon Prime are up there too. That's not a RULE, but unless your movie is a grand-slam that you figure we'll all want to watch regardless, ya might as well have us watch something we can track down easily and just throw on.

Reason:
To continue the already-entertaining film discussion here among the GTZ loyal and maybe even discover some flicks we'd enjoy, but would have never bothered to watch otherwise. And/or torture those who suddenly find themselves obligated to watch a movie they know they'll hate.

Has nobody seen The Road? That's surprising. McCarthy is difficult and bleak.

Oof, this a downer? Interested to see how I feel about it, I've been seeing lots of downers lately - in that emotionally bleak way.

Brother, it's a fantastic flick, but it it's totally a downer. The book is even more bleak, but it's sort of a hard read. It takes some effort to finish a Cormac McCarthy book.

There won't be many smiles after this one.

I didn't cry, but it really bothered me. I didn't sleep well the night I saw it. I've been looking for an excuse to watch it again.

They never really say what happened to make the world dead, so it's kind of up to interpretation. I always thought of a nuclear holocaust. If that is the case, it's scary as hell.

The Road is a downer until Guy Pearce shows up, sadly at the end. I wish he had a bigger role.

I figure that's what the west coast will look like if Russia ever decides to fire a nuclear torpedo from a November class sub.
