I've never heard of this program before, but it's Amazon, so you're probably going to be in pretty good hands. I was just looking though what was offered and ended up ordering an S10+ for around $325. That's not a steal or anything, but it's competitive with used prices on eBay. I've been in the market for awhile since my S7 has a terrible battery life at this point.

I got my Pixel 2 and my wife's Pixel 2 XL both Amazon renewed. Her's looked brand new. Mine was great except for a couple kind of bad scratches on the screen. I really needed the phone so I just had to deal with it, but I'm sure they would have replaced it if I had complained.

I think it's just their fancy new term for Refurbished. It still is protected if it's junk, so probably okay.

The company I used to work for was able to sell off some of their consoles as "renewed" it's basically over-glorified Good/Very Good. The products are supposed to be refurbished, but are more often than not just a used product.

With all that said, I wouldn't bother with them. You're essentially paying a fake premium. Obviously, this will vary from seller to seller, but from personal experience, I'd only consider purchasing an Amazon "renewed" if the price is lower or in-line with the used prices.

Spend a bit more and get something better. $500-600 is really the sweet spot for phones. I got an A71 5G over the holidays for $70 after trading in an old work phone and it's fantastic.

Until this post, I don't think I've paid more then $200 for a phone. Maybe I don't know what I'm missing, but everything has served my needs just fine. I went from an iPhone4s to Galaxy S5 to Galaxy S7. I paid up a bit more this time and jumped to a Galaxy 10+.

PS: This is a bit unrelated, but does anyone else remember this skit from MadTV about razer blades. I feel like they could redo that with the number of cameras in a phone at this point.

If I clean my S7 with a Lysol wipe and do a factory reset, is it renewed?

I just bought my iPhone XR renewed off Amazon and it looks practically brand new. It only cost about half of what a new one goes for. I'm beyond happy and will be doing this exclusively for new phones from now on.

For $325 that is a great deal. I'm in the process of trading my S10+ in for $550 off my new phone. grin

Yeah, I'm pretty happy with it. My plan is to stay 2-3 generations behind in the Samsung Galaxy line unless something major changes. I've been very happy with my S5, S7, and S10+.

For me, I usually end up buying either the newest or second newest, and I ride that phone out until I find a good deal on a newer one. The Samsung deal I jumped in on was too good to pass up.

Plus my area's 4G reception has been garbage lately, so I'm hoping those new 5G signals give me a speed increase.

This is exactly my plan.. I think I might go for the S10+.. hopefully that will last me a few years.. I don't use my phone nearly as much as other people do

Through Verizon I just traded in my galaxy s9 for $600 off a s21 I usually keep phones longer but that amount is more than I paid for this phone, figured I might as well trade during this promo while value is high. ... my wife's s10 with a cracked screen can be traded for $400 which is around what we paid for it.

I never spend more than $200 for a phone. I'll just go a year or two back and pick from the top-rated phones that year. They usually last me about 2-3 years.

Up until this phone that was my plan. Maybe it's inflation, but I thought the S10+ was the best value at the time I was looking. If my battery was still lasting, I would have been fine with my S7 still.
