I'm pretty sure FF8 was indeed released in North America on 9/9/99.

Edit: yes, that's the release date alright.

Only the good die young. The Dreamcast is still my #1 all time favorite console and the launch lineup is still the best out of any console ever released. So many good memories.

I was smack dab in the middle of collecting and importing Sega Saturn stuff at that point. Anxiously awaiting the DC's launch.

I imported a Japanese launch DC and MvC. It was glorious. And then with Street Fighter III: W Impact I had a CPS-III board in my home! Later I had National Console Support (viva NCSX!) mod it so I could play american games as well.

I always wanted to buy one of those 1st party Sega light guns. I have a MadCatz one, but the Sega one just looks so cool.

Also totally jealous of that Powerstone 2.

My OCD is in overdrive every time I look at these, because the cases for PS and PS2 have cracks on them, and Sega used these slightly larger oversized cases back then because the booklets were so thick.

I've never been able to find replacements. They just don't make that size any longer.

Can't you buy some sports game off of ebay just for the case?

I don't believe there are any sports games that use that particular case. It wasn't all DC games that used this slightly oversized case. Just certain ones.

THE CRACKS IN THE GAME CASE - THEY ARE LAUGHING AT ME!!!

Correct. Sid if you need to know some cheap games that use that case size pm me. Also that case size is only a Japanese thing to my knowledge.

I don't recognize the game next to Tech Romancer. Is it a boot?

Never has it been so good for a console to die. So many fingers lost to that treacherous device. Stubs. Nubs. One-thumb. This one is for you.

Dreamcasts cut off fingers.
Never forget.

Never Forget the phalanges lost to this deadly machine.

Pray for those with only nubs left to game.
