We do a secret santa and a large stocking.. Secret Santa is typical.. we have like a $50 budget.
Large stocking is more fun.. it's typically you buy 1 item per person, which are part fun and part useful. We write a little funny thing about each gift on them to see if they can guess what it was. For example, I gave my Brother in law a gift that said "I hope you never need to use this" and it was a roadside car kit.

@Gypsy my wife’s extended family does a gift exchange similar to secret Santa. It cuts back on a lot of the nonsense and makes the gift giving experience a bit more personalized.
