new Thread Description
This thread was originally created to encourage traders here at GTZ to do more trading, especially retro related stuff. It has turned into a lot more and I am so grateful to everyone who contributed to this thread and have kept it going for nearly 6 months now. I hope this thread will continue to thrive and everyone who reads/participates in this thread will gain some value or knowledge out of it.

We will still have Trade lists up here, though it's been a while since anyone updated. I encourage everyone to look over their lists and post updates.
There is also a section for gorgeous pictures of game rooms that active participants of this thread have shared. Feel free to share some pics of your collection or game room.
I will be adding another section for information regarding video quality of retro gaming systems on modern displays and how to improve them.
There is rather some extensive discussion regarding how to improve the display quality of retro gaming systems and if you are new to this like I am, you will find it very informative.

Old Topic Description

GTZ has become a marketplace where the most commonly traded commodity is PayPal. I want to start an effort to get some trades going and to discuss some good games perhaps you never heard of or interested in but want to discover/know more of. For example, I just got intto shmups after years of ignoring the genre and I love to discover new(to me) and rediscover old ones(Sonic Wings comes to mind).

No pressure here. Feel free to discuss anything retro. Perhaps throw out some WTTF targets and what you have to offer. I am sick of browsing people's year old Available lists.

Some examples:

- WTTF/WTB/LF
- What you think is awesome game/series/whatever
- Potential games you have up for trade
- Pics of what you have/what you would love to get/what you think is the bestest awesomest game ever
- Show off your latest finds/adds to your collection

If most are cool with the $10 min, we can stay low. Should we do something to make it more appealing? Or is it because maybe the limited number of people who frequent this thread?

We can just take a break maybe?

I think it's mostly this.

A short break wouldn't be the worst thing.

I also like trading for "bottom tier" items and would be sad to see that altered. Ultimately, though, I'll side with Lunar on whatever he feels is best. After all -- and unless I'm mistaken -- this is his baby and I've really enjoyed watching it grow and taking part in the communal trading. love

There is very little drama in here and everyone loves retro love

I know. I was pissed (I just got rid of my PS4!), but then I saw it was coming out on PC and I came. Essentially even if this doesn't make it to the States for some reason or another, I'm covered. It'll get a translation one way or another. =)

I can finally play these games now smile I always wanted to but didn't think they looked good enough to justify the price. Maybe they are?

They were really not worth what they go for in the aftermarket to me. Hence why they were part of the small number of PS2 titles I had an interest in but don't own.

This is pretty great news honestly.

When we look in general at the tags on overpriced PS2 games... I'd say the G.U. titles are ...CLOSE to deserving their pricetags, keeping in mind there's probably many dozens of games much much cheaper that are much better. I can see why they stayed close to retail, because they're pretty fun. They also get a hefty Animu tax, but they stayed up because they're in demand and they're good games.

Unless you really handpick titles, PS2 is pretty budget last I knew. Like of course most of the horror games are overpriced (due to poor initial sales) but thankfully a lot of bad offenders got reprinted. It's not Xbox, but it's also very far from Saturn or Turbo Grafx in terms of bang for your buck.

Yeah, I was just comparing all overpriced titles in general in terms of quality. G.U. isn't nearly as egregious as some of the others. Expensive, yes. Rip-off, not even a little.

When I was deployed in 2009, my PSP and my collection of UMD movies (Super Bad was my crap) were my main source of entertainment. I had one of those UMD cases with maybe 8 movies that I'd watch over and over again over the course of six months... Fond memories with my PSP.

Fair point. Though lol at having to discuss which overpriced old games aren't overpriced as bad.
